Hey guys welcome to my Pillars of Eternity 2 min/max item and build guide! Today im going to be showcasing a single class Berserker build. It's a pretty straight forward build. It picks up
all the good dps abilities of Barbarian coupled with Min/Maxing items and attributes for the most dps. The key difference between this build and any other Berserker build is that
it uses the Morning Star Saru-Sichr that has a procc that can insta kill near death targets. This can in turn trigger your on kill passives, to increase your dps. In addition the
Morning Star modal reduces targets Fortitude. Barbarians have a passive that makes you target fortitude instead of deflection if it is lower. Combined with a team member that debuffs enemies
constitution and might which reduces their fortitude, this build can get extremly high crit chance.

With a party memeber debuffing Mig/Con you can get: Morning Star Modal (-25), Staggered (-10), Sickened (-10) = -45 Fortitude which means they will have substantially lowered defenses against Brute Force.
At level 11 when you get Brute Force most enemies have around 60-70 Fortitude which means they will have almost no defense against your melee attacks!

Race: Hearth Orlan - Minor Threat: 10% of Hits converted to Crits
If Helm of The Falcon is taken by another party member then Death Godlike +20% dmg against near death and +3 PLs when near death is a viable alternative.
Level progression:
  • Level 1: Frenzy
  • Level 2: Blooded
  • Level 3: Barbaric Blow/Two handed style
  • Level 4: Accurate Carnage
  • Level 5: Bloody Slaughter/Bloodlust
  • Level 6: One stands alone
  • Level 7: Blood Frenzy/Barbaric Yell

  • Level 9: Crushing Blow/Leap/Barbaric Smash
  • Level 10: Interrupting Blows
  • Level 11: Brute Force/Improved Critical
  • Level 12: Unflinching
  • Level 13: Blood Storm/Blood Thirst
  • Level 14: Uncanny Luck

  • Level 16: Panther's Leap/Heart of Fury
  • Level 17: Potent Empower

Weapon Proficiencies:
  • Morning Star

Pros:
  • Massive AoE damage
  • Single class giving you access to higher tier powers/faster progression
  • Morning Star modal + Brute force synergy
  • High Mobility with leap
  • AoE CC
  • Saru-Sichr proccs can trigger your on kill passives
  • Strong throughout the game. Very strong even without BiS items.-
  • Sanguine Great Sword gives great sustain
  • Reduces targets fortitue leaving them open to abilities that target it
Cons:
  • Relies on a teammember applying constitution/might debuff on enemies to lower their fortitude for Brute Force
  • No Multi class synergy
  • Frenzy makes you not able to see HP/Makes you hit friendlies
  • If your team has a lot of frontliners you basically have to have INT inspiration to get rid of Frenzy confuse
Equipment/Gear
Gear is pretty straight forward. Grab as many items that increases your damage/crit. Saru-Sichr has a proc that can instakill near death targets that can make your passives procc for even
more dps. Morning Star modal decreases targets fortitude coupled with Brute Force making you target Fortitude instead of deflection if it is lower mean you will have very good chance
to crit. It also leaves targets open to other abilities targeting fortitude like Driving Roar, Panther's Leap or Instrument of Boundless Rage. Swap to Sanguine Great Sword if you need self healing. The Willbreaker is an exceptionally good alternative to help debuff Will, if you are in a party with a Beguiler Cipher or someone who wants to target Will a lot. Ring of Boundless Stars can be used to lower enemies might/con if you dont have a party memeber to debuff.

  • Saru-Sichr:[pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com] Poisoned Dipped: 3 Corrode Damage per 12s for 60s on Hit. Death Sentence Adds 5% chance to instantly kill enemies with <25% Health
  • Sanguine Great Sword:[pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com] Blood Gift: +5 Health restored per 3s for 12s on Critical Hit Thirsty Blade: 20% of Misses converted to Grazes
  • The Willbreaker[pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com] 25% chance for Shaken on Hit. -3 Will (stacks 5 times) on hit. 10% action speed, 10% hit to crit and 25% miss to graze.
Equipment:
  • Helm - Helm of the Falcon[pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com] Falcon's Wings: 15% of incoming Hits converted to Grazes from Ranged weapons. Raptor's Grip: -10% Recovery time with two-handed Melee weapons.
  • Neck 1 - Precognition;[pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com] Heads, I Win: -75% Crit Damage taken Tails, You Lose: +25% Crit Damage given
  • Neck 2 - Claim and Refusal[pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com] +10% Damage taken from melee attacks, +15% Damage with melee attacks
  • Chest - Miscreant's Leathers[pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com]; Deft Motion: -10% Recovery time, +8 Reflex.
  • Chest 2 - Devil of Caroc Breastplate[pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com] - Articulated: -10% Recovery Time Soul Fragment: +2 max Power Pool
  • Ring 1 - Chameleon's Touch[pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com], Versatile: Gives +1 to an Attribute and a Skill determined by the User's class.
  • Ring 2 - Ring of Greater Regeneration[pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com] - Greater Regeneration: +3 Health restored per 6 sec
  • Ring 3 - Ring of Boundless Stars[pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com] Grants Tayn's Chaotic Orb and Minoletta's Concussive Missiles
  • Boots - Boots of the Stone[pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com] +1 Dexterity, +1 Resolve, Resistance to Might afflictions.

  • Pet - Nalvi (Dog): Reduce recover Penalty for armor (varies by type) - Party Wide
Consumables:
  • Mouth Char: Mouth Char -5% damage taken, +15% melee damage dealt for 180 sec
  • Potion of Perfect Aim: % Missses to Grazes / Grazes to Hits / Hits to Crits conversion
Core Abilities:
  • Carnage - The barbarian's attacks become so forceful as to impact others around the target enemy. For every successful melee attack, the barbarian makes reduced-damage attacks at all other enemies within a short distance of the target.
  • Frenzy - 25% Action Speed, -10 Deflection for 15.0s, Strong, Fit, for 15.0s. Sends the barbarian into a frenzied state, granting Strong and Fit Inspirations as well as an Action Speed bonus. While frenzied, the barbarian receives a Deflection penalty.
  • Driving Roar - Let out a frightfull yell, causing enemies in the area of effect to be Shaken (Barbaric Roar) - Enemies in a line are now affected and the force can knock foes down. (Driving Roar) - Enemies are also pushed and take Crush Damage
  • Barbaric Smash - The barbarian deals a massive blow, increasing the likeliness and damage of Critical Hits and applying Carnage in a larger area. (Barbaric Smash) - If the hit kills the target, the Rage cost is refunded.
  • One Stands Alone - The barbarian makes a courageous stand against all attackers. Grants a melee damage bonus when the barbarian is near two or more enemies and the barbarian requires an additional threatening enemy to become Flanked
  • Bloodlust - Imparts an unquenchable bloodlust to the Barbarian, increasing his or her Action Speed for a short time once he or she has personally downed an enenmy
  • Panther's Leap - Drawing upon reserves of intense spiritual power, barbarians are able to Panther's Leap high into the air and crash down upon their foes, Dazing them. (Panther's Leap) - Thrash at all enemies near the impact site, dealing Slash Damage and Raw Damage over time.
  • Instrument of Boundless Rage - The barbarian hurls a large rage-imbued weapon at their target, exploding into a ball of fire on impact and knocking the target Prone.
  • Blood Thirst - After killing an enemy, the barbarian's recovery bar is immediately refreshed.
