First step
The first step is quite simple.

Open up your file explorer, and type in the search bar "%appdata%" and then press enter. It will bring you to a wide selection of files, choose "SpaceEngineers"

Second step
Following on, after opening the file 'SpaceEngineers' in the %appdata% search, click on "Saves"

Third step
Now, click the random numbers folder.

Fourth step
Now, there will be either a list of saved worlds or a single one if this is your only world. Find the world you were wanting to change.

Fifth step
After finding and opening your world folder, click on the SBC file named "Sandbox" and open it.

Sixth step
After opening the file using some text editer, like Notepad, CTRL + F and search for "Survival" until you come to a line that says "<GameMode>Survival</GameMode>" Below that, are the settings you can change to whatever you desire, if you want a fast welder, set it to one billion or whatever. Please do remind yourself that this multiplied, so if you do a billion it will be one billion times faster.

Don't forget to save.

Note: If you're doing a gamemode other than survival, CTRL + F for that gamemode, like creative.

Seventh step
Now, in order for this to work, you must Like and Favorite this guide. Otherwise, it won't load.

Just a joke, thanks for reading.

Editing the save in this way, no longer always works, more so if you go into the settinsg in game after editing the save.. ingame defaults it and overrides. -- Really old guide tho--

Quick tip: make a backup of the file before you edit it. Sometimes that'll save you time trying to find a missing / in a closing tag, or similar, when the world file won't load.
Also FYI that long number as a folder name is your Steam ID; if you share your PC with another steam user there may be a couple of folders there.
