If you have bought the german cut version of Fallout 3, you have no official way to play in english and/or without the cut.

here's how to fix that

This Guide works with all German versions of Fallout 3, including update 1.7.0.4 from 04.06.24.

Schote.biz does not host the files needed for the patch anymore. Instead use one of the download links below.
You can either download the original patches individually or all the needed game files combined. Both works, but the latter is easier.

Fallout 3 English Language Patches by Schote[drive.google.com]
Fallout 3 german version uncut patch[www.nexusmods.com], a mod on Nexusmods by Prinzler.

Pure game files, everything above combined[drive.google.com].

Just unzip them into the main game directory and override everything.
Done. Enjoy your uncensored game in english language 😃

For the main game:

• run 'Fallout 3 - Assistent' from the folder "Dateien" --> "1. Fallout 3 Main Game"
  
• click 'weiter'. You will patch Fallout 3 to english, although the installer states otherwise.
  
• again, click 'weiter'
  
• choose your Fallout 3 directory and then click 'weiter'
  
• click 'patchen'
  
• now the program writes the english language data into your Fallout 3 installation, this can take a few minutes
  
• copy xlive.dll to the main game directory to restore GWFL functionanilty to be able to start the game. You can use the mod GFWL Disabler to remove it later if you want.
  
• finally, you click 'fertigstellen' and thus finish the installation

For the DLC:

• run 'Sprachpatch Assistent' from every DLC Folder
  
• the installation is as for the main game patch, but patch times are shorter

Uncut Fix:

note: although the launcher is german, the game will still be english and now uncut.

• Extract the archive and rename 'Fallout3ng.exe' to 'Fallout 3.exe'
  
• Replace all the Files in your Fallout 3 directory with the files from the archive:
  
  • your now named 'Fallout 3.exe'
    
  • 'Fallout3ng.exe.cat'
    
  • 'Fallout3ng.exe.cfg'
    
  • 'Fallout Launcher' (not necessary, if you use the one from the archive, you'll have the german one)

If everything was done right, you have converted your German cut Fallout 3 into the English uncut version 1.7.0.3, which still works with Steam.
