Tools and Consumables Guide


Ammo Box

  • Ammo Box - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 80" - This small portable ammo box refills half of your weapon's extra ammunition, including special ammunition types.
Alert Trip Mine

  • Alert Trip Mine - How to unlock? - "Unlock Decoys then Use any 'Deception' Item 15 times" - This portable tripwire mine releases firecrackers and a small flare, alerting others to its location. Comes in a pack of four.
Antidote Shot


  • Weak Antidote Shot - How to unlock? - "Use any 'Poison' item 5 times" - A shot which immediately cures all poison effects and makes you invulnerable to them for 30 minutes.

  • Antidote Shot - How to unlock? - "Use any 'Poison' Item 15 times" - A shot which immediately cures all poison effects and makes you invulnerable to them for 60 minutes

    The Antidote Shot cures all poison effect immediately. It can be used when you get in contact with the hives bees or a Poison bomb.
Bear Trap: World item
Spawns in the same way as the red oil lantern. Placeable when glowing green, red when not. Deals bleeding damage to other hunters. The bear trap can be disarmed in many ways, it will react to anything thrown at it. You can disable a beartrap by crouching and interacting with it




Blank Fire Decoys

  • Blank Fire Decoys - How to unlock? - "Unlock Chaos Bomb then Use any 'Deception' Item 25 times" - A decoy that imitates the sound of a gunshot impact. Useful to distract and confuse enemies.

    • Works just like the standar decoys except it simulate a gunfight.

    When thrown, it creats a random gunfire sound, everything from Winfield, Mosin too shotgun. You can harm other players and AI when thrown at them. You can destroy lanterns.

Combat Axe: World Item
Choke Bomb

  • Choke Bomb - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 11" - The Choke Bomb exudes a gas that extinguishes any flames within its radius while active- as well as preventing new fires from being lit- and induces heavy coughing.

    • Hunters will start coughing for a moment when inhaling the gas.
    • Small cloud of gas choking out all sources of fire.
    • It explodes with a large initial blast followed with a smaller lingering area effect that lasts for 30 seconds.
    • Extinguishes burning downed players.
    • Any fire-based weapons and explosives will go out immediately when thrown into the active gas cloud.
    • Any flammable barrels, lanterns or oil spills will not ignite as long as the cloud remains around them.
    • It can be used to instantly kill Immolators and put out burning weapons carried by other AI monsters, including the Butcher.
Concertina Trip Mine


  • Concertina Trip Mine - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 40" - This portanble tripwire mine deploys a small concertina bundle perfect for blocking doors and windows. Comes in a pack of two.

    This Portable tripwire Mine deploys a small concertina bundle. perfect for blocking doors and windows. It can be activated by shooting at it or by explosive.

    • Now releases fewer wire pieces to make it easier to destroy with melee attacks and should help to avoid becoming entangled.
    • To compensate for this change, the initial damage upon triggering the mine has been increased.
    • These changes make single Concertina trip mines less effective to block passage ways, but will reward smarter placement overall.

Concertina Bomb

  • Concertina Bomb - How to unlock? - "Use any 'Tactical Gadgets' Item 15 times" - Spring-loaded razorwire coil that unfolds violently when thrown. Shreds and entangles anything that tries to move through.

    The concertina bomb can be used to block different paths. The duration of this bomb is unknown to us, but our conclusion is that the barb wire will stay as it is for the rest of the match. The concertina bomb can be destroyed with explosion or with melee weapons such as the Romero 77 hatchet or just a regular knife.
  • The Concertina Bomb will now drop and activate if a Hunter is killed while it is being cooked.
  • Can be used to block paths and doors.
  • Causes RENDING damage.

A tip from stingingy: "Concertina bomb will cause bleeding when you whack someone with it".
Chaos Bomb

  • Chaos Bomb - How to unlock? - "Unlock Alert Trip Mines then Use any 'Deception' Item 25 times" - Set of firecrackers that can be used to temporarily distract nearby enemies. Duration of about 30 seconds.

    Set of firecrackers that can be used to distract nearby enemies. It imitates different gun sounds.
    • Gets stuck on surface.
    • Duration 30 seconds.
    • Imitates diffirent gun sounds.
Dusters


  • Dusters - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 20" - A row of metal rings worn on the hand in order to increase the damage caused in hand-to-hand combat.

    Dusters also known as the Brass knuckles. It uses less stamina but takes longer time to kill certain monsters. Aim for the head.
    • Blunt weapon
    • Uses less stamina
    • Works best on the Immolator
    • Hellhounds need 2 heavy attacks

Dynamites
Dynamite won't work if in contact with water (obvious). If it's cooked right it can explode just above the water. The size on the dynamite affects the throwing distance
  • Dynamite Stick - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 8" - A dynamite stick that detonates with a massive blast after four seconds.
    • Dynamite Stick: Small explosion.
  • Dynamite Bundle - How to unlock? - "Earn 500XP with any 'Explosives' Item" - A bundle of several dynamite sticks.
    • Dynamite Bundle: Medium explosion.

  • Big Dynamite Bundle - How to unlock? - "Earn 1000XP with any 'Explosives' Item" - A bundle of many dynamite sticks.
    • Big Dynamite Bundle: Huge explosion.

    A suggestion from Emisary: "Nice information! perhaps good to add to the dynamite that the bigger bundles can be thrown less far"
Decoys


  • Decoys - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 32" - A bag of scrap metal and glass. When thrown the noise can be effectivly used to distract or divert enemies.

    • Works on lanters, best way to deal with dog kennels.

    You can destroy lanterns which is the best sneaky way to deal with noisy animals. You spawn with 12 Decoys but you cannot restore your amount of decoys with ammo boxes, so use them carefully.


Decoy Fuses
  • Throwing knives - How to unlock? - "Unlock Blank Fire Decoys then Use any 'Deception' Item 25 times" - A pack of decoy suese that imitate the behavior of a lit bomb - and can fool your enemies into clearing a space. Can ignite flammable materials.
Electric Lamp


  • Electric Lamp - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 1" - A battery-powerd light worn on the shoulder. Increases visibility and can be used to blind nearby enemies during night.

    You can blind your opponent, but usually it just gives away your position when in use. Thats why it's rarely(never) seen in use by other hunters. The Electric Light tool now causes a blinding effect when aimed at another Hunter, making it harder for them to accurately return fire

First Aid Kit


  • First Aid Kit - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 1" - A bag of medical supplies that heal 50 health and stop bleeding. Can be used three times.

    First Aid Kit is a bag of medical supplies that can treat all types of injury but it's slower than a Vitality shot. The First Aid Kit can be used three times. Using First Aid Kit now pauses bleeding damage while in progress. Remember you cannot heal yourself while poisoned.

Fire Bomb


  • Fire Bomb - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 1" - Flammable liquid in a glass container that bursts on impact. Spreads burning liquid over a large area.

  • The fire bomb is a great way to deal with downed hunters. It skips the idea of looking for a lantern.
  • Cheap to buy.


Fuse

The fuse burns for 300 seconds, It can be used to illuminate dark areas or thrown at explosive/flammable barrels so they explode. The fuse can be destroyed by shooting it.
  • Fusees - How to unlock? - "Extract 2 times with any Item from 'Light'" - Pack of three handheld railroad flares used for illuminating dark areas and for signalling. Can ignite flammable materials.
  • Can be used to block view of hunter (like smoke grenade)
  • Can be thrown at monsters and barrels to set them on fire.
  • Can be destroyed by melee and explosions.



Flash bomb

The flash bomb flashes other players of course. Flash bombs full stun effect has been reduced to 5 seconds (previously 8 seconds). Flash bombs will now cause an additional ear-ringing effect that will last up to 5 seconds after your vision has returned.
  • Flash Bomb - How to unlock? - "Use any 'Tactical Gadgets' Item 15 times" - Home made, mercury based, blinding light bomb. Capable of disorienting several targets at once.
  • Stun effect 5 seconds
  • Causes ear-ringing effect in 5 seconds
Frag Bomb
The frag bomb cause bleeding damage to hunters within it's radius. As the dynamite, the frag bomb wont explode if landed in water, so be sure to cook it befor throwing. Remember the frag bomb is weak againste armored monsters.
  • Frag Bomb - How to unlock? - "Earn 500XP with any 'Explosives' Item" - Frag Bombs send lethal shrapnel over a large area, lacerating nearby enemies. Unlike dynamite however, the blast is not strong enough to destroy doors or concertina wire.
  • Wont explode in water
  • Cook it before throwing (recommended)
  • Cause bleeding
  • Weak agains armored monsters.
A suggestion from Dirty Dan:"Frag grenades will go though about 1 layer of wood/straw and still do full dmg/bleed"
Flare Pistol

A flare burns for 30 seconds. Useful for distracting other hunters, blinding them or just want to see better. It can also be used to set enemies on fire such as other hunters and monsters. Works best on the Hive and the armored ones.
  • Flare Pistol - How to unlock? - "Earn 500XP with any 'Light' Item" - A small pistol for firing flares into the air, illuminating the area. Can ignite flammable materials.
  • Burns for 30 seconds
  • Sets monsters and hunters on fire
  • Works best on armored and hives
Hellfire Bomb

Hellfire Bomb is a flammable liquid in a glass container. On impact it will ignite in a large area.
  • Hellfire Bomb - How to unlock? - "Use any 'Fire' Item 25 times" - Flammable liquid in a glass container that bursts on impact and creates a massive fireball.
Hive Bomb
The Hive Bomb releases three small hive swarms of poisonous bees, it has the same effect as the Poisonous bomb and will give you a green tunnel vision. It has no effect on any monsters.
  • Hive Bomb - How to unlock? - "Use any 'Poison' Item 25 times" - Poisonous wasps emerge from this bomb to terrorize anyone unfortunate enough to be in the area. However it has no effect on monsters.
  • Won't break when thrown in water.
  • When affected: green tunnel vision (blury).
  • Poisonous bees will attack hunter when in close proximity. (including yourself)
Heavy Knife
  • Heavy Knife - How to unlock? - "Earn 2500XP with any Knife variant" - The heavy knife is honed for close quarters combat, its iconic silhouette carves out its home in the American pantheon of armaments.
Knuckle Knife
  • Knuckle Knife - How to unlock? - "Earn 2500XP with any Dusters variant" - The savage knuckle knife is a roughshod specialization for close quarters combat, suited for both bludgeoning and brutal thrusting deathblows.
Knife

  • Knife - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 1" - An all-purpose tool and melee weapon that has saved many lives - and taken just as many.
    • Takes more stamina compared to the Dusters.
    • Causes PIERCING damage
    • Use heavy attack by holding left mouse button (recommended)
    • Best use on Armored and Grunts.
    • Dont use on Immolators!

Lantern: World item
Don't let the red lantern fool you, it's bullet resistance and cannot be destroyed. It's most useful on downed hunters where you can put them on fire. If your buddy is down and on fire then it's not "game over", you can jump in and revive him but you have to be fast. The lantern is also effective against enemy monsters such as armored ones.
  • Red lantern is bullet resistance
  • Can be thrown by holding left mouse button
  • Burn downed hunters or monsters
  • Turn light off/on by pressing X
  • If your partner is on fire, extinguish the fire by pressing F then release

A suggestion from Dirty Dan : "Lanterns are actually a great way to deal with the spider boss silently as if you can correctly land a few you can kill it without shooting at all and it's silent at long distances. Also the Flaregun can tag it as well and deal some dmg and help track the boss when it skitters randomly though out the building. (light warning though)"

Liquid Fire Bomb
The Liquid Fire Bomb creates a small burning area on water.
  • Liquid Fire Bomb - How to unlock? - "Use any 'Fire' Item 5 times" - Flammable liquid in a glass container. Burns on the surface of water. Internal steel balls cause it to burst on impact.
  • Small burning area
  • Works on water and land


Pitchfork: World Item
Poison bomb
The Poison bomb has the same effect as the hives bees, it gives you a green tunnel vision and a certain amount of damage. The poison effect duration is around 22 seconds. You can counter this effect with a Antidote Shot.
  • Poison Bomb - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 48" - On detonation emits a persistent, deadly cloud. Anything caught in or that passes through the cloud will be poisoned.
A suggestion from The Zendman: "As it is now, you can use the poison bomb to kill the immulator instantly. Dont know about the other poison weapons, i have to try that out"

Poison Trip Mine
  • Poison Trip Mine - How to unlock? - "Use any 'Poison' Item 25 times" - This portable tripwire mine releases a cloud of poison when triggered, disorienting enemies. Comes in a pack of two.
Quad Derringer
Not much to say, its a pocket sized mini revolver. The magazine cannot be restored with ammo boxes, so be careful with your ammunition.
  • Quad Derringer Pistol - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 66" - A small, light pistol that is easy to carry and conceal. Holds four shot. Twelve aditional rounds carried.
Shovel: World Item
Spyglass
Spyglass is a one-eyed binoculars that can be magnified with SHIFT to see at longer distances.
  • Spyglass - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 24" - A monocular optical instrument for seeing things far away as if they were nearby.

Stamina shot

The Stamina shot can come in a good use when running to the extraction with the bounty as you get a major advantage with your stamina.
  • Stamina Shot - How to unlock? - "Use any 'Healing Shot' item 15 times" - A shot which immediately restores all stamina and stops further depleting for 10 minutes.

  • Weak Stamina Shot - How to unlock? - "Use any 'Healing Shot' item 5 times" - A shot which immediately restores all stamina and stops deplenting further for one minute.
Sticky Bomb


The Sticky Bomb, is a small dynamite charge in a spike frame. It has a fuse time of 8 seconds.
  • Sticky Bomb - How to unlock? - "Earn 250XP with any 'Explosives' Item" - Dynamite charge in a sticky frame that can be attached to objects and enemies. Its eight-second fuse doubles the detonation time of a dynamite stick.
  • Eight-second fuse
  • Sticks on any surface - doors and shutters
  • Small blast



Throwing knives
You start with six knives. By holding the left mouse button, you can use them as a regular knife. it's weaker and deals less damage then the regular knife. It takes two hit to kill a grunt. The throwing knives can not be restored with ammunition boxes, but you can pick them up after throwing. Throwing knives now cause bleeding damage. The knives can also be thrown at lanterns to destroy them.

  • Throwing knives - How to unlock? - "Earn 2500XP with any Knife variant" - Silent, but short ranged projectile weapon. Thrown knives can be retrieved and re-used.
  • Short range
  • Weaker when used as a melee weapon
  • Cause bleeding
  • Can be picked up and restored in ammo box
  • Can destroy lanterns
Vitality Shots
The Vitality shots is in good use when you are in combat. it's a must have in your inventory. It quickly restore lost health nearly in an instant, plus it stops your bleedings.
  • Vitality Shot - How to unlock? - "Use any 'Healing Shot' item 10 times" - A shot which immediately restores all health.
  • Weak Vitality Shot - How to unlock? - "Reach Rank 1" - A shot which immediately restores 75 health.

Waxed Dynamite
The Waxed Dynamite is a waterproof dynamite. Its just like a "small Dynamite stick" but waxed of course. It creates a small explosion, and it works on land too. (obvious).
  • Waxed Dynamite Stick - How to unlock? - "Earn 250XP with any 'Explosives' Item" - A Dynamite Stick with a modified powder fuse that enables detonation under water.
  • Small blast
  • Works in water



Drop rates for consumable/Tool.
Looting dead Hunters now has the possibility to restock tools or a consumable.
Not sure if these numbers is still accurate with update 1.1.3
The drop rates are as follows:
20% chance to refill a random tool.
20% chance to restock a random consumable.

Loadout Changes

Hunters now come with 4 Tool and 4 Consumable slots by default.

The two traits (Packmule and Frontiersman) that previously gave Hunters the respective fourth slot have been redesigned.
This also applies for Quickplay. Hunters can now collect up to 4 Tools and 4 Consumables and possibly win a fully equipped Soul Survivor.

Packmule: Looting an item box as well as looting a new consumable from a dead hunter will now provide 2 consumables if possible. (only applies to new consumables)
Frontiersman: Tools with charges now come with one additional charge at the start of the mission.

Looting a hunter now also has a chance to give a random consumable, if there is a free slot in your inventory.
Consumables received from the Item boxes are usually of an offensive nature, like Flash Bomb, Dynamite or Hive Bomb, but does not include items like Concertina Bomb or Poison Bomb.

Hi Sauce. The best way is to move on. It may or not been a hacker. I've seen some surprising things happen. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes not. Opportunities will be opened sooner or later.

Hey what advice do you have for playing against the constant hackers that headshot you from 50m away with the Nagant through a barn wall?

About the flashbomb: its damage is 1HP when you get flashed. So with the sparks it can be a good combo :) they also changed the durationn, im not sure how much it is now.
