Less Annoying Friendly Fire

A lot of friendly fire damage is actually very small and usually negligible (e.g. hagbane poison or burning ticks), but the fact that they make the screen flash red (in exactly the same way as if a rat hit you) can become quite distracting and confusing.

This mod removes the red arrow indicator and instead displays friendly fire as a red background behind the portrait of the player who damaged you, making it obvious that it came from a player and not a sneaky rat behind you.

The transparency and duration of the red background is determined by the amount of damage dealt to you. So tiny hagbane ticks will be short and feint, while a grudge-raker to the back will be bright and highlight that bastard dwarf's portrait for a good second or two.

Damage you do to yourself (AoE, venting...) is also hidden, instead highlighting your healthbar area at the bottom.

Optionally, the indicators when stormvermin or chaos warriors push you (which deals 0 damage) are also hidden, making it clear that you're not being hurt by their push.

Recommended companion mod: No wobble - so that the camera is not jolted around when you are hit, or hit yourself.

thank you, everyone is making excuses to them not shooting me on purpose even though they know that they meantfully did so. I would just say I downloaded this mod to know that they did FF me.

Added an option to show the red box above or below player portraits, as well as options to tweak the opacity and duration that it's shown.

New version is done! Now not only is the damage indicator hidden (in a smarter more future-proof way than before), but it's replaced by a flashing red box behind the portrait of the player damaging you.

Venting, AoE or some other form of self-inflicted damage is also detected, highlighting your healthbar area at the bottom instead.

The "Stop Pushing Me" mod is now a part of this one, so 0-damage pushes and packmaster dodges will no longer have indicators either (optional).

I love the transperancy on the sanctioning, hopefully a good alternative will come soon.

On paper this mod should be non-objectionable for Sanctioning, but due to how it's implemented, by changing the damage type on incoming friendly fire, we currently cannot Sanction it for Official Realm use as this might have gameplay consequences current or future. We hope to see a new version of this implemented that makes the fix in the UI instead.
