Clanners would disapprove of your view on armor to gun ratio

As someone who always puts ammo in the head, i cant think of a single time where ive had an ammo explosion in the head. its just such a low chance, cuz chances are, you're going to die from the shot that hits your cockpit internals.

Unless your mech is meant to try and draw aggro and tank, or it is a brawler, or you got a bigger mech early and it's your only assault or heavy since I notice those getting shot more often from personal experience, there is nothing wrong with stripping armour, as long as you don't strip very important components like the ct or head, but there is nothing wrong with stripping a little bit here and there from the arms or the legs for a bit more tonnage as long as you don't strip too much imo.

My Catapult EggshellCannon and its 60 LRMs per turn disagree about the armor

so, I completely stripped the armor to two of my four mechs and had the other two just be tanky and spot. It was funny. The tanks saw things and then the enemies would instantly get knocked down due to missile over load. If there was line of sight, PPCs would rain death as well as the missiles.

@miningmatt. The head is a good idea cause if it gets hit trough armor once it is gone anny way. Center torso not so much the game mostly acts like mechs have case ammo so it will not over dammge the mech if you store it in a other part. Losing a arm to a ammunition crit is not a problem losing the CT is.
