Shinkansen D4 - Avalon (6Cars)

The D4 series is an Imperial Shinkansen high-speed train without tilting capability, developed jointly by Kawasaki Heavy Industries and German Krupp for use of carrying commuters around Tokyo area.

D4 series features German made diesel engines that is capable of reaching high speeds on straight lines. Exhaust covers also act as air brakes during the deceleration, and retracted in reverse operations.

Aside operations in Japan, D4 Series are widely used in Europe and in United States, by Avalon Transit Directorate.

High speed cargo variant, C4 series is the workhorse of express cargo operations in continental Europe and Japan.
