Rick and Morty Voicepack - Legacy or WOTC

Descrição
These guys don't need any introduction, you know who they are. Wubbalubbadubdub! This mod adds Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith to your list of in-game soldier voices. It will work on Legacy AND WOTC but won't work on faction soldiers.

Like Shodan v2.0, this one's been kicking round my hard drive for a while, unreleased because there was already a Rick & Morty pack on Steam by NinjaDuckie. But he had Rick AND Morty speaking on the same character, and because he doesn't want to update for season 3, and because my version has a ton more cues on it, I've decided to go ahead and release my version.

It includes cues from all three seasons, and the DOTA 2 Announcer pack.

Morty has 246 cues and the most annoying whiney voice in the wooooorrrrrld.

Rick has many more at a whopping 610 cues.

Radio Filter has been applied to both, and sound files were reduced to mono to keep the .upk file size down.

I've tried to avoid characters names where possible, but these guys say each other's names all the time, ALL THE TIME, and most of the time if you truncate the name out of the sound file, it sounds like dog's balls. So I've left a lot of them in. My advice is to use a soldier customization mod, and as soon as you've done Gatecrasher, get into the Armory and change two of your soldiers to Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith. Send them into the field all the time, bond them if you like. That way, when they talk to each other, they're just talking to each other.

Rick and Morty are both voiced by Justin Roiland.

******Updated 8/5/18: Forgot to add delay nodes to Morty's 'Out of Ammo" and 'Loot Spotted' cues, to reduce thelikelihood of them playing the same time as a 'Kill' cue. Updated ini and int files to avoid a conflict with Emmote's Mordin Solus voice pack (Thanks Galliar!)

I was gonna make a character with this voice pack, but after listening to the preview dialogue, I began to have second thoughts...

Anyone know where to get the other characters or if they exist as mods for this yet? the other characters being like beth, summer, jerry, or the car would be cool for sparks. just wondering. Also love this mod!!!! Thank You!

Use the alternative mod loader. The official launcher now refuses to load certain non explicitly WOTC mods now.

[RQ] StuballZ I have not listenned to Rick's voice pack. I am only comparing Morty's voice pack to the default game voices and some mods I have added. I can't think of any other voicepacks that are loud like Morty's. Anyway. Thanks for making the voice packs.

@tiedyedpunk: It's like this: You're not complaining about Rick's voice, yet his volume is actually the same as Morty's. Same volume as all the other voicepacks I've made. Morty's voice is no louder than the others.

It's the whiny nature of Morty's voice that makes it *seem* louder. It pierces the ear more effortlessly than the others. And if I ever remake the pack, I won't amplify his samples as much.

[RQ] StuballZ I don't understand why you keep referring to the Rick voice for comparison.

@tiedyedpunk: Oh, I understood. But what I said was, I used the same amplification on both Rick's and Morty's voices. They are the same volume. It is the *quality* of Morty's voice that makes it seem louder, whereas Rick's is more gruff and gravelly and not as ear-piercing.

I think you may be overstating the problem a bit; you're the only person complaining about it. But I do understand where you're coming from. If you don't like Morty, don't use Morty.

My XCOM 2 modding days are over and done. It takes a great deal of time and effort to make these voicepacks. If or when I remake them for XCOM 3, I'll keep your criticism in mind and watch Morty's volume.

[RQ] StuballZ I am comparing Morty to the other game and mod voices. I am not comparing Morty to Rick. Based on your response, It isn't clear what you thought I was saying.

@tiedyedpunk: I did both characters at the same time, using the same amplification. Morty does have a voice that's harder on the ears, I'll grant you that. Maybe he needed less amplification.

I'll keep your complaint in mind if XCOM3 is moddable, and I remake it.
