That's a fantastic idea. I love the notion of chisled features. Good luck with that.

Also, now that I think about it the "realistic" stone doesn't really fit with Torchlight's graphical style. It would look much better if I tried to make it look like their features were literally "chisled" out of stone.

I probably should write up a tutorial, now that I think about it.

I figured you were using Photoshop. However, seeing as how I've never modded anything for Torchlight, I didn't know how involved the process was. If you wanted to line up another skin to work on, you could also try frost/ice as well as tatoos. I'm just thowing ideas out there since you're the first person I've noticed that seems motivated to create cool new skins for characters.

Also a sylvari-like plant person skin would also bet pretty cool.

A tree-person skin would be a bit more complicated, but I have an idea of how I can do it...

Really, all I'm doing is using photoshop to overlay a stone texture over the default Torchlight skins. But thanks for the encouragement!

I would love to help but I really don't have the time to start an additional project. All I can really do is to make suggestions and offer constructive critism. I love elemental skins in fantasy games but developers rarely add them. A nature skin like treebark or leaves would be another cool skin for future reference. Texturing can be a difficult task at times and I wish you the best of luck. ;)

Not sure about glowing eyes, but I guess I could stand to add a couple varients with cracks and/or darker shades.

Pretty cool. If there was any way to add cracks in the skin to really sell that this person is made of rock, that would really look awesome. Also, if the skin was a shade darker it would look a little less like marble or limestone. Additionally, it would be cool if you could make the eyes glow a bit to make the character seem more like an elemental being. With that said, you are definitely on the right track... good work. ;)
