First Possible Solution:
1. Press (Windows) + (R)
This will open Run Command.

2. Type in "devmgmt.msc", then press Enter
This will open Device Manager.

3. Find "Human Interface Devices" and then "HID-compliant consumer control device"
Check the picture below to see exactly where to find them.

4. Disable "HID-compliant consumer control device" and then try to run the game.
If it doesn't work, you can try to disable other 'HID' devices one by one, until something works.

Second Possible Solution:
1. Start up the game and disconnect your keyboard and mouse from the computer.
It seems to work according to AFK4LYF in the comments, maybe it will work for you too.

2. Wait a couple of seconds and then reconnect them back into your computer.
If it still doesn't work, you can try to disconnect all of your USB devices, sometimes it works.

Third Possible Solution:
1. Download the fanmade patch created by https://steamproxy.net/id/MasterZecke:
Download: https://steamproxy.net/app/35000/discussions/0/4362302357669904803/

2. Move the downloaded binary file into the Mini Ninjas game folder where ninja.exe is:
It should be located at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mini Ninjas

3. Once the file is in the folder, run it, it will quickly patch the game and fix the issue
Afterwards you can delete the file and run the game, the issue should now be removed
Thanks For Reading
If you know about other possible solutions, please write them down in the comments.
If I find some other solutions, I will eventually add them to this guide for people to see.

There has been released a fix for this issue. You don't have to unplug or disable anything anymore. It's open source if you want to look through it. It worked for me but still no gurantees, can't account for every system out there.

https://steamproxy.net/app/35000/discussions/0/4362302357669904803/ - Link to the thread where the programmer goes more into detail as well as linking the fixer.

Every time I disabled a HID device it got a little better, so I disabled all of them which made it run fine. I just re-enable them whenever I stop playing the game. Thank you!
