@curtyuiop - Yeah I'd say so as long as you're willing to look past how badly dated some of the shooting/non existant cover mechanics are which greatly increase the difficulty. Story progression wise, it's basically linear so don't go in expecting to do missions in any order in the same vain as GTA.

It's definitely well worth the money in my opinion (I had the original 3 CD version when it came out in 2002 so it's got a lot of sentimental value to me. More so due to how technologically advanced it was for the time). If you do get it, make sure you download MafiaCon for it as it'll greatly increase the lastability of it by adding a fully fledged console that you can type cheats and stuff into.

@xDShot™ - Same. One of the things I cannot stand with modern games is how they've removed friendly fire. With Mafia, the characters literally say things when reacting to how your character spontaneously flips out. The developers quite literally thought of everything which really goes the extra mile with making the characters and world feel alive. As a result, having a "schizophrenic episode" in the game and flipping out is made all the funnier by the other characters appropriately reacting in context with what your doing. XD I don't recall any other games doing it with this kind of detail.

Great game. With ton of bugs, it's still funny to play :)
