Valkyrie (Meghan J. Castellano) is a 2 armor 2 speed Defender who has been released in Operation Dust Line along with Blackbeard (Craig Jenson).

Her special gadget is called a Black Eye which is a special Cam, Which can be placed anywhere on the map. It can be destroyed by Attackers and if it is thrown outside the map boundries.

Her role in game is to place these Black Eyes in sneaky spots which grant the defenders a big advantage. A huge Disadvantage for the attackers is that normal cams stay in their spot but Valkyrie Cams are always placed in different spots.
You should NEVER mark someone with her cams as that can 1. Give away the location of the cam which will be eventually lose the cam which could lead to a loss.

Why should you use her? Firstly, I would recommend to use her because if you have roamers on your team and if you put your Cams in the right spot, the roamers can potentially get an easy kill. Secondly, You don't have enough cameras, and the fact that everyone knows the common spots which make them nearly useless.
Overall her gadget is very powerful. Those 3 Black Eye Cams if properly placed can give your team tons of information and a vast of space to rotate and move around the map.

She has and option to choose between her secondry gadget. A Deployable Sheild and A Nitro Cell. You should NEVER use the deployable shield because 1. You will get team killed and 2. Her Nitro Cell goes amazingly well with her gadget. Using her Cams and Her Nitro Cell you can pick up some easy kills!

The MPX

This 9mm submachine gun is perfect for Short to Medium gunfights. It can be used at long ranges but it isnt recommended. The MPX is mainly used with Valkyrie

Valkyrie's shotgun is one of the best shot guns in the game. It is not a pump action, so if someone is right infront of you, you can spam the sh*t out of her gun.

1) In your opinion, what is this operator’s primary or ideal role in the team?
Gathering Intel is definitely the primary reason to pick her, though she's also a very good flex pick, as she can roam, play site or do whatever she likes after her cams are set up.

2) The operator’s gadget and how it will help the team achieve its goals. Please share any tidbits you may know to help expand discussion.
Her gadget is extremely versatile because knowing the exact location of your enemies will pretty much always give you an advantage, no matter what you do.

I most of the time throw 1-2 cams outside. You can then either try to spawnpeek right at the beginning of the round (although I'd advise trying something unusual, as the normal spots can be very dangerous), or wait until a good moment to peek comes (enemies rappelling, looking in a completely different direction etc.). You can prepare window barricades, but take care that you are not heard. Also, peeking from the same spot more than once often ends in your death. However, if you have a buddy on the other side of the map, he can use the distraction to get a kill himself, most attackers will tunnelvision right onto your location and won't be checking other angles for a few seconds.

For inside cams, use them depending on your and your team's playstyle. If you have many roamers, put them further away from the objective. Always look for the weaker spots of your defense and put them there. If you see in the first seconds of the round that they have Thatcher, Hibana and Thermite, you might want to cover the hatches above and/or crucial reinforced walls.

You can also save one cam and throw it in a situation when you need it. You can, for example, throw it around a corner to a corridor or into the next room to check if it's clear.

3) The operator’s loadout, and how best to optimize it. This includes primaries, secondaries, and secondary gadgets.
Her MPX is a very good weapon, recoil is easy to control and the fire rate is good. I would use the flash hider or the muzzle break, not so much the silencer, it reduces the damage more than with other weapons. (Damage tests from Rogue-9, and his Video on silenced damage).
As for sights, use what you are comfortable with, I would generally recommend the Holo. I think it would be too strong if she had an ACOG.
The Deagle is not that useful for fights, but can be used to make holes in the wall (you only need 3-4 shots).
As for gadgets, use the c4, it has great synergy with her kit.
She's a 2-2, pretty good and fits into her playstyle as a Jack of all trades.
Haven't really used the shotgun.

4) What maps and game modes does this operator do well on?
She's good in every mode.
For maps, generally the bigger the better, good for peeks outside and the cams can be hidden easier.

5) What maps and game modes does this operator struggle on?
She's really good on every map. Maybe house is not optimal for her, but I guess that really depends on the player who's using her.

6) What other operators synergize well with this operator being on their team?
Mira, because then you can pretty much see everything around the objective, Smoke, as he can use his beauties with more precision and he can open sightlines with his shotgun. Also makes it easier for him (or pretty much everyone else aswell) to play above or below the objective. Also very helpful for everybody that roams. And everybody on site. Everyone on your team, I guess.

7) What opposing operators check or counter this operator?
IQ. She can see your cameras, so try to place the very far outside or very spread out (she can't be everywhere).

8) What strategies have you adopted while playing this operator and why?
You can pretty much do whatever you want with Valk, so just be creative and unpredictable. Communicate with your team.
I mostly roam with her and try to disrupt the enemy team, get a kill here or there and retreat after I'm spotted. Hiding in a corner and having a camera near you is also good, as you just can get up and get a kill on an unsuspecting foe.

9) What is something that a new player should know when playing this operator, or what is something you know that would help a veteran player take that next step?
Learn your own personal camera spots, and put them at unexpected places. Get to know the maps well.
It's also good to ask yourself after every round what you achieved with the cams. Did the enemies come across them? Did they cover important spots? Did they get destroyed?
Also: Don't mark every single target 10 times! Communicate with your team via voicechat. Only mark them for wallbangs or in situations with the time running out!
Learn to toss your c4 from every possible angle, you should use it a lot.

10) What is your overall opinion of this operator? Where would you rank them among the other operators?
I really love Valkyrie, she has a very good gadget, good weapons, and good utility. You can not go wrong with her and a good Valk player can definitely change the outcome of the game, especially in a coordinated team where everybody uses the cams and gives exact calls.
So imo she's one of the best operators in the game!

11.) What change, if any, would you make to this operator for better balance in the game?
I really think she's a very strong pick in the right hands, and near perfectly balanced.
It would be really great if the silencer became more viable!

In the end, Valkyrie is a very strong and an annoying operator to play against. I believe she is an essential operator to own.
