Colony Shops
All of the colony shops take payments in Mews which you earn by selling items to these merchants. Each of the two inventory expansions can only be bought once each, and only from the colony that your cat belongs. The items Black Rose and Shiney Trinket are only unlocked after Coco visits you and tells you about them. All of the styles are for custom colonies and don't unlock until the player has started their own colony.

Molby's Construction, Den Improvements.
After your first couple of seasons, Molby the Mole will show up and offer to improve your den. He takes payment in Mews. The first three rooms are available right way. The spare rooms opened up for me a while after that. I don't know if they unlocked because I purchased a couple of his improvements, or if it was time dependant.

Miner Mole's Merchandise
This mole doesn't appear to be one of the named Mole brothers that run the mines. They take payment in Mews, and will not buy anything. Since the gems in their inventory can be sold to a Mole brother, they are the only way to convert Mews into Mole cash. This mole appears in every mine at levels 25, 50, and 75. Their inventory is consistent regardless of which mine you encounter them in.

The Mole Cash Shops
There are three Mole Cash shops, one each at the Prairie Quarry, Canyon Creek, and Beach Central. At the top level of each of the mines you will meet one of the Mole Brothers, all of whom take payment in Mole Cash. You earn Mole Cash by selling mining loot from the cave to these merchants. These merchants only buy mine loot. Deeper in the mines, every 25 levels, you'll find will another mole vendor that takes payment in Mews. Also, all of the cat colony vendors will take mine loot in return for Mews.

Once you reach Level 50 of a particular mine, you unlock the options to buy a warp to either level 25 or 50. When you reach level 75 of a particular mine, you can purchase a warp to that level as well from the Mole brother in charge of that mine. The warps are not visible until you unlock them.
Beach Central: Molay's Mole Cash Shop
This mine is a bit different, as it is not visiable on the map. To get here one must swim directly south of the Beach Central Tile. Once you reach the border you will be in the Island map square, but you must swim to the south side of the Island to get to land and stop swimming fatigue/water damage. I made the trip easily with 160 health and a swimming skill of 7. I think I could have made it with less health/skill if I had tried. I should also note that there are more bats to fight here, and it seemed to me that they hit harder than the ones in the other mines. There are combative ghosts that have shown up for me around level 7. Having a high fighting skill would be a very good idea. Also, I've found it very useful to have the active skill "Return Home" or a warp to another mainland square so you don't have to attempt to swim back if you are low on health.

Custom Colony Shop
Once your cat completes the main story line by restoring the balance to the forest, the Gaurdian will grant you the ability to start your own colony. Coco comes with you becomes the custom colony shopkeeper. Coco then sells you blueprints to build your colony. Payment for these items are in the currancy of Mews. Coco will also buy any of your items in a manner similar to a regular colony shopkeeper.

MorsFactusSum, no coco does not leave. coco is the build shop keep, she gives access to walls and dens. peanut is no different then ember, savanna and delta, only with different items. where as coco helps you customize your colony.

And abenlen, I have a question. Does Coco move out of the custom colony after you buy everything? Because you said that Coco will become the custom colony's shopkeeper, but you also said that Peanut was the custom colony's shopkeeper?

zvinija, that is half-right. Molby will come at some point in the game. You could wait for him to come on his own, or buy a decoration from the festival shop. Not trying to be rude or anything, just letting you know!
