Introduction

How to Improve Globally
I started this guide with the goal of helping the community to improve their skill in terms of aim but as time goes by I started to deviate from the main subject and now I've decided that this guide helps people improving globally in CSGO.

How many guides did I make?
This was my first guide but I'm still improving and updating it, however, I started a new guide about Mirage, I hope you like, if so, rate and favorite.

Can I translate for you?
Yes and I would greatly appreciate it, but all my guides are translated at the moment and I already have some translators in my friends list, if I need I'll post here.

What languages are available?
This guide is available in 3 languages, English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Organize your Desktop
Here I'll talk about how you should have your desktop organized.
You should have a large space to move your arm so you have space when you have to shoot and move the mouse quickly.

Having a mousepad or a good surface is so important so as having a mouse, it helps you to move your arm gently and inside the game you easily see that your aim is soft and really helps you to aim at the head, here is an example of how your setup should look like!

Now I'll talk about mouses.
A good mouse is important too but isn't the most important thing, if you can try for a mouse of a well-known and good brand, there are accessible and good mouses in the market so as:
  • BenQ ZOWIE EC1-A
  • Logitech G303
  • Logitech G502
  • BenQ Zowie FK2
  • SteelSeries Rival 100
  • SteelSeries Rival 300 (filipum's mouse)
  • Logitech G Pro
  • Logitech g403 wireless

Do gaming keyboards really matter?
Keyboards is the last thing you should worry about, but the only thing I can think of that could affect gameplay and that isn't personal preference is how many keys the keyboard allows to be pressed at once, but I'll give a list of good and well-known keyboards:
  • Slayer MK Plus (pedro's keyboard)
  • Corsair K66
  • Logitech G413
  • HyperX Alloy Elite
  • Steelseries Apex M750

Headsets are extremely important as well.
Being aware of the map, your position and determining where every sound comes from is a crucial factor in CS and so I'll give a list of good headsets:
  • HyperX Cloud Stinger (filipum's Headsets)
  • HyperX Cloud I
  • HyperX Cloud II
  • Logitech G231 Prodigy
  • Steel Series Siberia 200
  • Razer Kraken Pro V1
  • Logitech g433
  • Corsair HS45 (pedro's Headsets)
  • Sades SA-810
  • Corsair H1500
Remember there are a lot more good mouses, keyboards and headsets but I can't put them all here, I'll try to do a bigger list.
Mouse's Settings
Here you can see some windows settings to facilitate gameplay.
Now you should adjust your windows mouse settings, you can do this by going to:
  • Control Panel > Search for 'Mouse' > Change Mouse Settings
Now that you're in the Mouse Settings you should:
  • Uncheck Enhance pointer precision;
  • Place mouse slider bar in the middle (6 ticks from the left).

About Mouse's DPI/CPI!
You should lower your mouse DPI/CPI if possible. The lower your DPI/CPI, the less chance your mouse will make random movements or adjustments based on the smallest movements of your hand.

Find your perfect DPI/CPI[/b], everyone is different and you should find something comfortable for you to use. Most players would tend to go with 800 up until 1000, remember this depends on your in-game sensitivity (Going to talk about that later), I recommend you to use between 400 and 1000, most professional players use 400.

Now I'll talk about sensitivity in-game, this is so important as DPI/CPI and they work together.
As I said, in-game sensitivity and mouse's DPI/CPI work together and if you lower your mouse's DPI/CPI, you must increase your in-game sensitivity.

Basing your settings on professionals can be a good way to go. In CSGOPEDIA[csgopedia.com] you can find a lot of registered professional players with all their settings. Look for the one you identify the most or the one who plays with the same equipment as you.

Do not change settings all the time, the best alternative, in this case, is to choose a setup and keep it for a long time to get accustomed.
Launch Options
What are the best CSGO launch options?
These options will help you indirectly in your gameplay, because I will, through these options try to increase your FPS, giving a greater fluidity in your game and consequently improving your gameplay, to input launch options, head over to:
  • Steam > Right Click on CSGO > Properties > Set Launch Options > Box Pops Out
Adding the Commands to the Launch Options.
The syntax for commands put into this box is -[command] and then a space before the next one or any additional values that might be required. We’ll get into specifics with each command as we go.
  • -novid Turns off the Valve intros, saving you precious seconds every time you boot into the game.

  • -high Gives the game high priority in your CPU, and can raise your fps a little.

  • -threads [number] Tells the game how many CPU cores it has access to. Recommended to set this to however many cores your computer has (probably 4). Exactly whether this will improve or decrease your performance is specific to your computer, so enable or disable this command as necessary.

  • -tickrate [number] The tickrate is the number of times per second a server updates the status of everything on it. Most matchmaking servers run at a tickrate of 64, which is the default for local games you host offline. If you want to change to the offline competitive server tickrate of 128, change to that with this command.
Now that is all done it should look like this:

Resolution In-Game
Whats the best resolution to use?
There isn't the best resolution, the only best resolution is the one that is best for optimal fps and one that suits you. The choice is yours and it does not affect gameplay at all.

'4:3' is generally preferred by most professionals (at least ones that came from 1.6 and source) but however, mostly North American pros use '16:9'.

You can use the same resolution from your favorite professional player, go to CSGOPEDIA[csgopedia.com], search your favorite player and copy AR and Resolution.
Crosshair
Crosshair isn´t so important as sensitivity but it is something that you must feel well with it, therefore it's personal, you must choose the one that you liked the most.
  • To change your crosshair you can download the crashz' Crosshair Generator v2, it is a very simple map where you can customize your crosshair, there you can find a lot of pro settings too;
  • To change your crosshair during a game you must allow the developers console that you can easily switch on by going into 'Game Settings' in Counter Strike Global Offensive, after allowing the developers console you can easily change your crosshair during a game, open it and past all the commands from a certain config.
  • In the end I'll be giving my whole config if you want to try out, but remember, that is personal and may not be suitable for you.

Remember to put together the link.
Recoil Control
Spray Patterns and Recoil Compensation
  • Each gun in CSGO with the exceptions of a few such as some of the snipers have a spray pattern. If you simply hold down fire, or fire repeatedly, without moving the crosshair they typically don’t continue to fire where you’re aiming.
  • In the map 'Recoil Master - Spray Training' , training your spray can be easier than you think, I highly recommend you to download this map and play 10-20 minutes per day until you master your spray.
Strafing, Crosshair Placement and Prefire
Now I'll talk about Strafing, Crosshair Placement and Prefire.
  • Strafing is a technique which pertains to gun fights generally, but it's a common skill to have in your arsenal regardless of enemy presence or not. It keeps you mobile and prevents players from getting easy kills to your person.
  • Crosshair Placement consists in keeping your crosshair at head level sounds like an easy thing, but it is something you must practice every time you play before it becomes a second nature to your aiming ability. The benefit of keeping your crosshair at head level means that you will almost always be scoring a easy headshot onto your enemy whenever you engage them in a fight. Headshots do extra damage to players, so landing successive headshots mean that you can win your gunfights much more quickly, granted you land those shots.
  • Prefire means that you should always aim at the corners or at an open area where enemy players can come from, if you aim at the middle of a wall, you will be forced to move your mouse when an enemy comes from the position you should be looking at. What this means is that you will have squandered precious milliseconds in which you could have already fired off a couple of shots and done damage to a player just coming around the corner.

  • And I think that I couldn't find an easier way to train everything I said, you only need to download this set of maps, Yprac Practice and Warmup Mods, choose the map you want and play 10-20 minutes every day.

Workshop Maps
Training every day surely will help you to improve your aim.
  • Workshop maps are some of the best ways to train, Aim BotZ is the most well-known map for training, try it out. Training every day in this workshop map for 10-20 minutes is 1 of 2 steps for having a perfect aim.
  • For the second step you can search for deathmatch servers in the community servers, sometimes isn't easy if you're still a beginner in the game but it will help you a lot.
