This doesn't work anymore for whatever reason. Once it's set to 'forced off', Steam disables all controller functions permenantly.

Honestly, Valve shouldn't have messed with controller configurations in the first place, it's messed up so many games, even games not on Steam. All because they wanted to push their next money-maker.

This worked for me as well using a PS4 controller: "Use steam configuration for non-steam Controllers> Select (forced off) click ok". Now the DPad works and the button hints are for the PS4.

"Fix" for steamlink users

1. Connect one xbox controller to host computer (pc running game)

2. Connect second xbox controller to steamlink

3. In steam "Big Picture" mode:

Click Far Cry 5>

Manage game>

Controller options>

Use steam configuration for non-steam Controllers>

Select (forced off) click ok>

4. Run game.

This works for me. (Nvidia Gamestream, and Wireless Xbox one controller).

Disable all steam controller configs for this game. FC5 will work fine with xb1 controllers as long as steam controller configs are fully disabled in big picture mode. Steam xb1 config is messed up.

Yeh i have my xbox one elite connected via usb. Shame controllers dont just work for day. This method only seems to work for some people.

I have to use the usb cord on my elite controller. Would not allow me to use wireless. Works amazing ever since.
