A Guide to Absolutely Everything! (Obviously, Spoilers!)
By benkb01
This is a guide to absolutely everything the game has to offer. After scrolling through a lot of things on the game that were clearly misguided and seeing so many negative reviews made because of people being confused, I decided to share my knowledge of the game, and show you how to beat it!

Beginning
In the beginning of the game, you see the man in the theater explain that you are trapped in a dream that never ends. But, as a player, you expect this to be some moral thing and forget about it. That's fine for now.

You go into the game, and the first thing you will notice is its clunkiness. I just dealt with it, but if you want better FPS then there are guides on that out there.

After this, you see the heck of a mess that the previous owner left you. And as much as you want to, don't immediately start destroying things. Just wait. First, go to the store and buy as many carrots as you can. Plant and water them, then move on to the caves. In the caves there are two types of items you can find: Green and Black Herbs. Black Herbs heal you and Green Herbs restore your energy. These are CRUCIAL early game, so make sure to pick up all of them that you find. That being said, there is one thing you don't want to do: Worry too much about your stamina. You will notice that your stamina runs out very quickly. So you try to keep it above the EMPTY zone. Don't worry though. The only things that happen when you run out of stamina are 1: You don't increase in skill when you do an action, and 2: The next day you start with a half empty stamina bar. These may esem terribly bad, but they are not. This system allows you to do whateever you want as long as you don't run out of health.

Back to the mines. In the mines, you may notice something weird: Time stands still. This is normal. In fact, inside any building, time doesn't move. So, combine the black healing herbs, the fact that time doesn't move, and the fact that running out of stamina has little drawbacks, we can now CHEESE the heck out of the mines. Go straight in there and notice right away that the mining system is unique. You hit the walls of the mines, not just stones you find on the ground (like in Stardew.) This being the case, it makes it A LOT harder to find the way down. But this is ok. Another cheesable factor comes into play here. When you DO find the way down, it makes a new floor. You can go down to floor two, and then (using the ladder up that you came down on) go back to floor one, not the entrance to the mines. And the floors get refreshed. Therefore, you can simply cycle through floors to get infinite health, stamina, and (if you really wanted to) maximum hammer AND mining skill on the first day. If you don't know what the skill system is, go to the SKILLS chapter.

From noticing this, you also know that you will easily be able to make it to the bottome of the mines first day,k with enough patience. But do not do this. On floor 40 (the bottom) there is a boss (Mole King) that you want to wait until you have a better weapon to face. So stick at floor 39 and cheese it using another method - Automatons! These little mobs run around the mines dropping bombs. You can pick them up before they explode, and throw them near mine walls. These walls still drop goodies for you to pick up! Hooray! In your limited inventory, though, you want to save room. Make sure you pick up at least 3 octotinium, 3 gold, and 3 copper. (These ores are used to upgrade your tools.) The rest should be filled with gems which you can sell for easy profit.

After maxing your inventory, drop all the gems off in the bin in front of your house and the ore in the chest inside of your house. You won't NEED to go back to the mine any time soon, but it is an amazing source of profit early game. You NEED about 60 - 90 k to complete the game (minimum) and just a few days in the mines can get you this. Anyway, next you want to run around the town and talk to a ton of people. You will eventually run into an NPC named Tobias. If you got extra gold, give it to him, 1 or 2 a day. If you do this then after a week of doing this, you will have rreached enough friendship points for him to teach you how to make dynamite (not to be confused with bombs) and then you can stop.

Make sure to go back to the market and buy a TON of carrot seeds. These grow quickly and with the money you made from the gems on the first day (you get the money after the pick-up man comes at 4:00 but the market shop closes at 5:00) you can buy a ton of them! Enough to (probably) get you 60 - 90k. The amount needed to complete the game. Within the next few days, get the dynamite recipe from Tobias, the money from the carrots, and start to upgrade your tools. The blacksmith is to the right of your house. You should be able to upgrade your axe and hammer to copper with money from mining before the carrots are done. If you are REALLY dedicated you may be able to get one tool to gold quality. Anyway, just do all this first week or so, and you will be on track!
Mid Game
Mid game is kind of grindy, but you can always go to sleep early into the day to skip time. After you harvest and sell your first carrot crop, you will be good (if it was enough to get you to 60k or more) Just remember to forget about stamina!

After this you will have copper quality hammer and axe. It doesn't really matter which one you choose to fight with as long as you stick with it. (THE EXPLANATION IN THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH IS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL, SO IF YOU ALREADY HAVE YOUR 60k AND ARE FRIENDS ENOUGH WITH TOBIAS, THIS IS JUST TO GET A LESSER KNOWN ACHIEVEMENT) So, now that you have a good weapon, you need to smack this specific tile in your workshop with your hammer (see image.)

A little robot will come out. Follow him over to the area to the right of your farm, and he blasts open an entrance into a cave. Go in hear and fight your way to an area with a chest. In it is a potion. If you are not at high health, just save the potion and try again later. If you are, drink it (unless you are at max) and go into the next room. Here is a boss fight. If you beat the boss, you get an acheivement, and an automaton helper. He can water crops, harvest crops, and feed animals. He's useful, as he can water about 200 crops a day at max level.

After doing this (or not doing it) you need to take a gold ore and upgrade your axe and repeat with hammer. Do this again with octotinium. If you don't have enough money for some reason, go mine for it.

After this, you are on your way to being able to complete the game!
End Game (MOST SPOILERS CONTAINED HERE, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!)
Now, lets recap. You should have an octotinium axe, and an octotinium hammer. If you got the scenewith Tobias, hopefully you were smart enough to save him. If you killed him, well, you dungoofed. But if you got his recipe then its ok, his life doesn't matter much after that. Wow. I'm not ok.

So if you have those things, then you are good to go. First, you need to make the dynamite. If you are having trouble finding a peanut, they drop from maneater mobs (these are found around floor 33 and they are green. They shoot a homing bullet.)

Go to the landslide in the mountain area (to the right of the lodge and obove the stairs to the are with the mines) The landslide itself is just to the left of the entrance to this mountain area. Put down the dynamite and a cutscene playes. You don't need to explore it, but if you do, great.

Now, go back to the are to the left of your farm. Go a bit left, then down, then right, to the area where the hedgehogs fearlessly defend their home. Hit the stump in the middle with a fully charged octotinium hammer hit a couple times, and you find an entrance. Go down, then follow the path. There are two stones, one leads to a little fishing area, the other to a pool of green posion. Go up to the poison and fill your watering can with some. Now you can leave this area.

Go to the church area, and go down a bit, then left of the clearing of trees. You will see some vines. If you hit them with a scythe, they just grow back. You have to poor the poion on them. Then you will have access to a little tunnel area. Go down the tunnel, and into the door you see. You will enter into the area under the run-down villa. Good job. You are doing great! Now walk to the end of this room and you will see a table with a weird looking item on it. Go to this table and walk to the north most wall, in the middle. Hit it with your hammer and an area falls down. Look at the painting. It's cool. Good job. Now go back into that area and just keep walking forward. You will hit a long hallway with some statues. Just keep walking. There will be a tiny cutscene and the fire the statues are holding goes out, but just keep walking. You get to a crypt kind of thing, and inter act with the sarcophagaus thing in the middle. You find a book on top of a skeleton. Pick up the book.

Now you are REALLY close to beating the game. If it is still spring, then good job! I beat it by fall, but I didn't have this great guide helping me. xD. Now go to the church area and wait for a guy name Denny to come bye. Give him the book. He tells you some stuff, and then tells you to meet with him in the clearing near the church at midnight. Go there and Denny turns into a homicidal maniac and tries to kill you with knives. But its ok because they do about zero damage when you have a hammer that can kill him in about eight hits. You beat him up and then he gets shot by the agent. A stone flies out of him and you pick it up. Yay! You almost beat the game!

You wake up at your house and pick up the stone, then go to the area you blew up by the dynamite. Bring healing items because we haven't gotten any good armor, so the final boss will do some damage. Since we also haven't done any sin, you get a specific ending. If you want, you can go around and me a very terrible person. But it just takes time, so I don't reccomend it. I was too lazy to find out the "ending" that happens with sin, but you can if you want.

Anyway, go in there, and walk up, with the stone in hand. Go to a glowing door and interact with the door while the stone is in your hands. It opens up a doorway. Walk through the doorway and you see the agent and a big pit. The agent is now posessed so fight him, (he's really easy, though) and move on. Then, out of the hole, the final boss, sunken dreamer, appears. He's pretty easy if you have a good weapon, which you do, so you beat him up, then win the game! Good job! I hop this helps anybody who is stuck!

@Mystic Potato the gravestone is for your animals. When they get sick and you don't heal them, they will die and then the name is on the gravestone.

Guys does anyone know what the grave on your farm is for? I've finished the main story line and killed all the bosses etc, but I haven't gotten even a hint from any townsfolk as to what the deal is with the gravestone

I don’t know of any other way to get the dynamite, but I haven’t been active in tha community of this game lately so it may have been updated. I’m pretty sure you are still able to get the dynamite from Tobias, just keep giving him gold. If this doesn’t work, then you may want to look at the wiki for this game. I’m pretty sure it’s more up to date then me (:

Right after I beat Sunken Dreamer I committed the last sins I could with Mathilda's husband and the mayor's secret.

Welp, its been nerfed it seems, the post-exhaustion mining. Yes, you can go to lower levels, but once you're out of green, drops stop happening.
