Descended from a splinter group of Rockmen who rejected their species violent ways long ago, Crystals are almost completely unknown in the galaxy, having hidden from all other sentient life.


Special
  • Lockdown ability : Coats the room they're in with crystal blocks, preventing anyone from entering or leaving. The crystals wear off over time, when attacked, deconstructed or mined. Their ability also works outside, creating a crystal circle.
  • Toxic sensitivity reduced by 20% human-wise, thanks to their crystalline epidermis.
  • Strengthened body by 25% compared to a weak human, through their space emptiness and thousand millenniums travels.
  • -10% speed. It's their secular burden, the price of their invaluable experience through ages of time.


How does lockdown work?
  • Indoors : Lockdown will spawn crystal blocks to shut doors.
  • Outdoors : Lockdown will spawn an age dependant radius circle of crystal blocks.
  • Lockdown ability requires time to recharge after being used, and is only usable when drafted.
  • Crystal blocks wont spawn on walls, buildings, pawns.
  • Living organic beings and mature trees prevent the block from spawning.
  • Outdoors, the Lockdown radius is weighted by the ability user age chronological age. 50 tiles radius Lockdowns can be easily achieved by hundred years elders.
  • Watch out where the blocks spawn. Any of the following will end up destroyed : food, plant matters, drugs, organs, stone/wood weapons, rotten bodies.
  • Anyone under 20, wont be able to lockdown outdoors.
  • In their chest, Crystals have a unique to their race heart. It will trigger Lockdown when harvested, then used.

hey there, on startup it says "The following HairDefs have misconfigured texPaths or missing textures: CrystalHair1 (from Crystal race)"

its nothing big, and doesnt cause issues, but the only red error in 600 mods im getting on startup, so it would be nice to have it fixed :)

Thank you for the report. This is quite embarassing since if we change our defname, it will break saves. I contacted Crystalloid author to figure out what to do.
