You don't need to specialize Nayelli in health. In fact, it's recommend that you don't, because she'll buff other members of your formation when she tanks more and more mobs.
She'll survive by having raw HP. You can level her up after her soft cap, and gain more HP. If you can't survive 100 mobs at your wall, survive as many as you can. Then pour that gold into more levels for Nay, and eventually you'll survive the full 100.
Also if your afk or doing other things, just keep the DPS in the same spot so it takes longer for the wave to reach 100 mobs and enraging and wiping the party making you earn zero gold D: Plus helps for if you are doing this while totally AFK and just macroing Makos Ult.
You nailed this method-
Another Makos gold farm method- Use Barrowin stacks to get as far as you can, then use Barrowin stacks on Makos at whatever point he can get kills... This might even be worth speccing Ash Teifling's buff...
I have no idea how the math works out though, and would require EXTREME baby sitting
