Ever found yourself using the adaptable crossbow only to lament the fact that it's the only crossbow you can get your hands on in the entire galaxy? Playing as a Glitch and wishing you could drop the dinky bow for something a bit more... medieval? This mod adds a whole suite of new craftable and randomly generated crossbows for you to slay your enemies with. They fire slow and cost a lot of energy to use, but are powerful and don't require the fine timing of bows. In addition, they count as a hunting item, giving you an increased chance for animals to drop meat and other such valuables. Just make sure you hit your target!

The crossbows have custom sprites, projectiles, names and abilities, making them a worthy addition to any arsenal. They can be crafted at the anvil and its upgrades, or random ones can be found in chests and reward bags. As always, if there are any bugs or suggestions you have, let me know and I'll address them ASAP. Happy hunting!

The ID for the items are "stolte_commoncrossbow", "stolte_uncommoncrossbow" and "stolte_rarecrossbow".

Is there a way to spawn the randomly generated one with commands or spawnable item pack?

I am definitely keeping longswords, shields, and crossbows. Pulse rifles are cool too. Thanks for the feedback.

My first few weapon mods were really just tests to see if I could make new guns, so they're generally pretty similar to already existing guns and not very polished. If you want to add some new weapons while still keeping the vanilla Starbound feel, I recommend subscribing to my pulse rifles, longswords, shields, and crossbow mods along with my Starbound Weapon Overhaul. Most of the mods I created before those are rather superfluous.

@LondonStolte I love your work. All your weapons are really cool and diverse. I was wondering, do you think that subscribing to all your different types of guns is too much? I have a hard time telling the difference right now.

Love it. Explosive Bolt is OP, and makes it easy to kill the monsters of the same tier as the crossbows. Now I no longer need to hope for an RPG for the Erchius Horror mission, because I found a crossbow with Explosive Bolt in a locker and I like it more. I always make sure to have a one-shot weapon for the mutated miners and 2 basic shields to be able to walk through the lasers.

Should be. The mod is pretty self-contained, so unless Chucklefish completely overhauled treasure lists or something it'll probably still work!
