I replaced the Manhole covers with oreos.

I was able to use his mod's file heirarchy (aka root/materials/models/manhole01.vtf etc) and replace all the VTFs with Oreo. I haven't changed the VMT yet, as I don't know how to get it to do what I want and everything's good as it is.

Anyhow, be sure go upvote her reskin for me, because if she didn't do that I couldn't have made this mod today!


Wanna quickly see them in game? Just go to the "Sewers" chapter of the "No Mercy" campaign from the first Left 4 Dead!

I'm putting the words "Meme" and "Joke" and "Oreo Cookie" and "Sewer" here so it shows up better in the search.

Uploaded the files to the workshop as "The Manhole Covers are now Giant Oreos. You're welcome. Beta Version 1" then later renamed it to "The Manhole Covers are now Giant Oreos. You're welcome. v1.0" because it works as intended other than looking like a Slimy Metal Oreo somebody literally found in a sewer. (I suppose that *is* more "realistic", but c'mon. It's a giant Oreo. It's not supposed to add realism.)

And in case this takes off, no I will NOT take retexture requests. Put yourself in my shoes. You've done a retexture for one thing for fun and some guy with an anime avatar wants you to make it a frisbee or some-odd. Actually that's not a bad idea. But you get the point!

Completely Remade VMT from scratch, with new, FANCY normal map to boot! The Oreo even looks like an Oreo now! This is the Final version because it does literally everything I wanted it to. You can see the texture, and it actually looks good enough to eat!
