Introduction
H1Z1 is a battle royale, where players spawn randomly on the map with a parachute, gain loot, make kills, and try to survive players and the toxic gas.
I will try in this guide to help new players and / or begginers to have an easier time understanding the game. I'll try to cover:
  • The Spawning System
  • Ranks
  • Loot
  • Weapons
  • Cars
  • etc.
Spawn System
- When you join a match, you're placed into Fort Destiny (which is the lobby) and you get to choose your spawn as shown in the image.
- From now on, it depends a bit on your playstyle, but if you just started playing the game I recommend the white (trasparent) zone.
- Sometimes it shows the gas ring, sometimes not. I recommend spawning yourself inside the safe zone, or 1, max 2 zones away, otherwise you might not get in the safezone.
!ATTENTION! the white zone doesn't mean that there are no people, it means there are only a few players there.
  • Go in the yellow zone. - Get in some fights, more chance to get killed, but understand quicker.
  • Go in the white (trasparent) zone - Less fights, less chance to get killed, understand a bit harder.
Loot
- In H1Z1 the loot you find is divided into 10 categories (Weapons, Clothes, Fuel, Grenades, Crafting Items, Backpacks, Helmets, Ammo and Airdrop specific items).
  • Weapons - Everywhere
  • Clothes - Everywhere (Can scrap them for scraps of cloth)
  • Fuel - In Gas Stations
  • Grenades - Everywhere
  • Crafting Items - Everywhere
  • Airdrop Items - In Airdrops
  • Helmets - Everywhere
  • Ammo - Always next to weapons
  • Backpacks - Everywhere
Backpacks
- In H1Z1 backpacks are really important, they can help you carry a huge amount of items.
- All clothes equipped give you 200 space. So the most you can get: 2000 + 200 + 200 = 2400 space.
  • Military Backpack - the best backpack, with 2000 space for items.
  • Small Backpack - a small backpack, with 1200 space for items.
  • Satchel - you can only craft it with 6 scrap of clothes. 600 space for items.
  • Waist pack - is actually a small bonus for carrying more items with a backpack already equipped, 200 space.
Weapons
AK-47
  • Automatic / Semi-Automatic rifle ( Press "X" to chance the mode)
  • Takes 5 bodyshots to kill (without armor) [6 with makeshift] {7 with laminated}
  • Takes 2 headshots to kill (wih helmet)
  • Vertical Recoil
  • Recoli reset is a bit faster than AR-15

AR-15
  • Semi-Automatic rifle
  • Takes 5 bodyshots to kill (without armor) [6 with makeshift] {7 with laminated}
  • Takes 2 headshots to kill (with helmet)
  • Horizontal Recoil
  • Recoil reset is slower than AK-47

Shotgun
  • Takes 1 shot to kill (withour armor, depending on the range) [1 with makeshift] {2 with laminated}
  • The damage depends on how many pellets you hit, there are 12 pellets / shot.
  • Takes 1 headshot to kill (with helmet, depending on the range)

Hellfire
  • Takes 8 shots to kill (without armor) [9 with makeshift] {10 with laminated (I belive)}
  • Takes 3 headshots to kill (with helmet) [2 without helmet]

M92
  • Takes 6 shots to kill (without armor) [7 with makeshift] {8 with laminated (I belive)}
  • Takes 3 headshots to kill (with helmet) [2 without helmet]

Sniper Rifle
  • Found in Airdrops
  • Takes 2 shots to kill (without armor) [3 with makeshift, 2 and very low] {3 with laminated}
  • Takes 1 headshot to kill (with helmet)
  • Sniper Zoom is 8X 4X

Magnum
  • Takes 4 shots to kill (without armor) [5 with makeshift] {7 with laminated}
  • Takes 2 headshots to kill (with helmet)
  • Good at destroying cars, 8HP / shot.
Ranking Branckets
- In H1Z1 you have numerous ranks to advance ( bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, master, royalty). Beeing placed in a higher rank is resulting in more rewards.
- I cannot exactly say what the player are gonna recive for this season placemant, but probably an emote, they only gave us a sneek peak, so there's no possibily to see the exactly rewards.
- Daybreak didn't show the players the ranking branckets this season, so I thought of making it myself. After many hours of looking into the leadboards I actually got it finished.
- The new players might be asking how I know these things, well, I looked the last person points in a rank, and then the first person in the next rank.
- There'll be for Duos and Fives too, but today I just finished the Solo, it took me a lot of time so I post this until I finish for Duos and Fives.
- Just for the people who'll say this this is not made by myself, you have a gif here. ^^

Season Rewards
- These Rewards are for those who complete the 10 matches for rank placing.
!ATTENTION! You can't get the Emotes more than one time, but you can get the skulls for each game mode. Example: You're Master in Duos, and Silver in Solo: You get 3000 + 300 = 3300 skulls.
- This is example for what you get:
Crafting Items
- The Crafting System allows you to craft some usefull items to help you on the field.
  • You can get scrap of cloth by shredding clothes (depends on the piece of cloth)
  • You can get armor scrap by salvaging helmet (2 / helmet)
Healing
Bandage
  • Heals you 2 HP instantly + 10 HP overtime = 12 HP
  • Clear 1 bleeding / bandage = 3 bandages needed for severe bleeding
  • Takes 3 seconds to apply.

First Aid Kit
  • Heals you 8 HP instantly + 60 HP overtime = 68 HP
  • Clears all bleeding, 3 bleeding / first aid kit
  • Takes 5 seconds to apply.

Procoagulant
  • Heals you 6 HP instantly.
  • Clears all bleeding, 3 bleeding / procoagulant
  • Takes one second to apply
  • Craftable
Shoes
- Shoes in H1Z1 are on 3 increasing levels.
  1. Stealth Shoes - now beeing called "level 1 shoes", are the worst shoes, but much better than bare foot. You spawn with them in the lobby.
  2. Boots - now beeing called "level 2 shoes", are the medium shoes, faster than stealth shoes, but slower, and taking more falling damage than conveys. You find them everywhere in the match.
  3. Conveys - now beeing called "level 3 shoes", are the best shoes in the game, much more faster than stealth shoes and boots, and less falling damage. You find them everywhere in the match.
Armors + Helmets
- Armors and helmets are really important in H1Z1. They can save your life multiple times during a match.
Helmet
  • Found Anywhere
  • Saves you from beeing one tapped and dying, instead, when you get shot, the helmet is destroyed and you remain 65 HP.
  • Can be scrapped for armor scrap.

Makeshift Armor
  • Protects the body from 1 shot, so when you get shot one time, you don't get damage, instead your makeshift armor in destroyed.
  • Craftable

Laminated Armor
  • Protects the body from 2 shots, so when you get shot one time, you don't get damage, instead some of your armor durabilty goes down, after second shot, the same, and after the third shot, your armor is destroyed but you still remain with 100 HP.
  • Found in Airdrops.
Airdrops
- Airdrops contain loot which is really powerfull, like the Sniper, or laminated armor.
- It randomly drops many times through the game by an airplane.
- After the airdrop has falled to the ground a jet flyes above the airdrop and drops bombs, if you are caught in the bombs, you're pretty much dead.
- After the third gas, there's no more bombs.
- I wouldn't recommend picking-up the ghillie suit, because it only spawns when a sniper is spawned, so people will start following you even if you have or don't have a sniper.
  • You can see a flare like this next to the drop. After the drops is opend another flare is shoted into the sky, so other players know it's been looted.

! In the Airdrop, you can find the following:
  • Sniper Rifle + 20 Sniper Rifle Bullets
  • Fuel
  • Ghillie Suit (For camouflage)
  • 20 x Explosive Arrows
  • AR-15 + 90 Rifle Bullets
  • AK-47 + 90 Rifle Bullets
Cars
- Cars are a faster and important source (to move faster of course), and can get you from one place to another in no time! They depend on speed and traction.
- To refuel a car, you need fuel, found in any gas stations, get in a car, and use the fuel.
!ATTENTION! I will talk about autoroyale cars in the Autoroyale tab.

Police Car
  • Fastest car in the game
  • Good for hiding next to it
  • Good protection inside the car
  • Bad traction on mountains

Truck
  • Slowest car in the game
  • Moderate hiding next to it
  • Vulnerable inside the car
  • Moderate traction on mountains

Jeep
  • Moderate speed
  • Best for hiding next to it
  • Moderate protection inside the car
  • Good traction on mountains

ATV
  • Good speed
  • No cover next to it
  • No protection on it
  • Good traction on mountains
Combat Zone
  • Instant respawn.
  • Combat Serum heals you full even from 1 hp to 100 and clears all bleeding.
  • Find makeshifts on the ground.
  • In the last five minutes of the combat zone, everyone gets a sniper.
  • One combat zone match is one hour.
  • 3 seconds invulnerabilty after respawn.
  • Really good for training / warm-up.
  • Gets really boring after some time.
Autoroyale
- Autoroyale is a gamemode launched when H1Z1 got out of early acces.
- You spawn in a car selected by the leader (random pick) which can be the Sedan or the ARV.
- One person drives, and the other 3 persons shoot.
- Shoot the crates to get loot, or pick up powerups.
- There are vehicle repair kits, grenades so on on when you pick-up a powerup. There are even jumping powerups.

CARS

ARV
  • You take less damage than Sedan
  • Slower than Sedan
  • Bigger than Sedan, so it's easier to get shot.

Sedan

  • You take more damage than ARV
  • Faster than ARV
  • Small car, so a bit harder to get shot.

I just downloaded this game and found the guide to be great, all things I'd ask to be answered are clear and very accurate. I'd recommend this guide to anyone willing to try the game.

You guide helped a lot, it's easy to understand. Will you consider making a UI crash course? Simple things for complete beginners, like how to scrap items (what to click/press, where etc) that sort of thing, since most discussions that popped up after a google search are outdated and before the new UI. I know there are likely lots like me who still don't know these things after a few hours of play. :P

@KikkerMen, yeah, just saw that, was thinking of another thing when I did that. Going to repair it when I have a little bit of time, but thanks for the comment. ^^
