1) Go to your tree / boulder.
2) Take your axe / pickaxe.
3) Hold space on your keyboard and spam left button on your mouse.

You don't actually need to spam LMB to achieve this. If you have the right tool equipped, your character will automatically use it on nearby xyz.

How about getting opulent pickaxe or opulent axe? Also Maxwell's shadow puppets can do this stuff for making a pickaxe or axe and they are infinite. Woody has fast axe.
