NOTE:
The game has been updated with new mechanics since the creation of this guide, still, some of these tips are useful to the current state of the game.

This section below it is mostly about how to deal with campers

  • Some typical errors is that many hunters go straight to the hint or fight the Boss without searching the area for campers, therefore they are killed by sneaky campers on site.

Remember that there is no rush to make the objectives if you are in an early or mid game.
Take your time. If you are near from a hint or in the boss location, take your time to search the area outside and inside the boss perimeter.
Just because you haven't heard or watch anything relevant in 20 minutes or in a late game, it doesn't mean you are alone.

If you are near an objective, avoid the animals or triggering the zombies. The Campers might not see you coming but if they hear the crows, sounds, zombies running, etc, you are giving away your position or on your partner.

Always double check slowly the windows from houses, the windows from the top floor, if the door it is open might give a suspicious hint that someone was or it is inside. Specially near the boss area, double check top floors in that perimeter of the red circle.
    Near the boss area: https://prnt.sc/iizk44

Avoid moving in open fields with no cover at all, or in the water, unless it is necessary to do, but in other case, avoid these paths. Specially at night, because the natural light of the moon can completely iluminate these open fields and also anything in the water with little to no cover or no buildings in the area. It is just common sense, but I've seen many hunters running in these type of fields with no cover.

Make sure to make enough space between your partner and you.

Usually in a Duo, someone it is leading the way, but the other hunter it is just behind the hunter in front, like few feet away of distance, very, very close to the other hunter.
This duo it is an easy prey, the team can fall for a random dynamite, with an explosive barrel, and it is easier for someone else to aim both of them.

    • The recommended thing to do it is that the guy behind the leader should move at the same phase as the leader (crouching or running), but with a distance, make an appropiate distance with each other, not too far, but no too close with dynamic angles and positions.
      Example:

    • If your partner gets downed, while using the new type of formation I've mentioned above, then for an instance the other hunters might think he was alone. But in fact you were hiding in another area few meters away from him or behind him. There are 2 choices:
Engage to counter them, it could be by surprise if they didn't notice you along with your partner.

      Or Hide and retreat.
If you hide or retreat, you can leave your partner downed for a while. Like I've said, the other hunters could think your partner was a Solo hunter, if you spot them, didn't engage and notice they go away, you can proceed to revive your partner, but remember it consist in how many health bars have left.

But there might be a Con about this, it is not always the good choice in hiding or retreating.
Consider if your partner it is downed while you are hiding, and you spot the other team in the distance but in this case they are not moving away, instead they're getting closer or facing your partner's body, it means that they will attempt to set the body on fire with a molotov or something in order to prevent reviving him. You can't revive a partner if its on fire. So you need to think in different scenarios when your partner it is downed.

The pack of flares or fusees for the night missions
A little bit underrated these flares. These flares can be useful at night against campers, specially in the Boss location. Usually there are campers on site.

If you throw a flare, and it happens to be near a camper in that suspicious corridor or corner, their sight will be affected by the blue bright light, you might give away your position, but in their perspective one of the campers will have troubles to aim, forcing him or them to move away from their current position out of the flare in order to have a better sight, which also can give you information if there are campers or not.

If you Solo or Duo fighting the Boss
Always expect someone coming from behind while you are being distracted with the Boss. If you are in Duo, at least someone should be in a dynamic mode of guard behind.

    Extraction points
It is not always recommended to extract from the nearest extraction point from the Boss location, there are usually campers in the perimeter.

It requires map awareness, by playing only, the map it is big, but static, you need to learn the paths, multiple entrances and exits, the underground paths, etc. It is an advantage over someone that don't have the map awareness and it is just camping.

Campers like to take out zombies that are close to the exit point, because if the campers shoot and miss the shot, they got to deal with hunters and some zombies that are walking to them and giving their positions away. So if you see no zombie near the exit, then there is a high chance that there are campers there.

@Neverseen4 No that is incorrect. It's whenever there are more players than you and your partner.

One thing that i noticed is if there is a extraction with the horses and there is a camper nearby, the horses will start to make noises. It happend to me. It might have just been something random, but good to keep in mind.

It can start before both bounties have been extracted. My fiance and I both had the bounties and just stayed in the match when we found out we were the last 2 and the countdown did start right before the 1 hour mark.

You mean the 5 minute countdown when both bounties are extracted? In closed Alpha had a 1 hour long game with 1 bounty left, no countdown. Probably was adjusted in EA release?

Each game can only last an hour before the server will close. You will get notified 5 minutes before it shuts down.
