Enabling the Developer Console
All TF2 cheats and commands are reliant on you typing then into the developer console. To access the console, find the options menu, click on advanced controls, and check the box that says "Enable Developer Console."
To open the console in game, press the ~ button on your keyboard (next to the escape button)
Creating a Server
There are multiple ways to freely and quickly create a tf2 server. Don't worry, the server will close once the host leaves, it's not an open public community server, unless you explicitly change the settings of the server to be that way, and yes you can have your friends join the server if you use the invite function through Steam's friend menu.

Method #1 (recommended method)
Start a training match via the game's "find a game" selection screen. This creates a server for you, and sets the server settings to that of a normal tf2 match. You can use the second method after starting a training match to flip between different maps whenever you like.

Method #2
Open up the developer console and type in map id(id should be replaced with your map name, like cp_degroot keep, cp_cloak or arena_watchtower; Ex: map cp_cloak). This method used to be buggy, as the game registers you trying to create a competitive mode lobby, but it seems to be fixed as of the 64 bit update (or some other random patch around that time).

Method #3
Use the "Create a Server" button at the end of the "Find a Game" selection screen.

Method #4:
There are some TF2 servers that have sv_cheats set to 1, which means that you can do a lot of commands in a multiplayer server. You probably shouldn't do this.
Enabling cheats: sv_cheats and Host settings
sv_cheats 1
This command allows users to activate lots of 'cheat commands' and use them in the server.

sv_cheats is by default set to zero. Enabling sv_cheats to 1 will enable you to use cheat commands (in the dev console).

(Enable the dev console by pressing the "~"/"`" key)

sv_pure 0
Allows mods to run on your server.
sv_pure 1
Allows certain approved mods and applications to run as add-ons to TF2.
sv_pure 2
Players can only use content supplied by Valve.

Server Host
Some commands only allow the server host to use them. Be wary of this!
Changing Maps
In the console, type: map id

Ex: The map id for Degroot Keep is cp_degrootkeep; the map id for Hightower is plr_hightower
  • Attack/Defense/Control Point maps and Degroot Keep start with "cp_" before the map name (Ex: cp_degrootkeep)
  • King of the Hill maps start with "koth_"
  • Capture the Flag Maps start with "ctf_" (Ex: ctf_2fort)
  • Payload maps start with "pl_"
      • Payload race maps start wit "plr_" (Ex: plr_hightower)
  • Mann vs Machine maps start with "mvm_"
  • Training maps start with "tr". (Ex: tr_walkway)
  • Arena maps start with "arena". (Ex: arena_badlands)

For maps like Badlands, which has gamemodes in KOTH, arena and control points, you need to specify which gamemode you're chosing with the koth/arena/cp prefix.
Binding Keys/Kill Binds/Chat Binds
Binding a Key:
  • bind "key" "command"
    • Ex: bind "u" "sv_cheats 1"
      • Whenever you pressed the "u" key, you will tell the game to execute the command "sv_cheats 1". Remember to use quotation marks.

Unbinding a Key:
  • unbind "key"
    • Ex: unbind "u"

Kill Binds:
  • bind "key" kill - Your character commits suicide and ragdolls
  • bind "key" explode - Your character blows up

Chat Binds (pressing a key that sends a message in chat):
  • bind "key" "say Your Message Here"
  • Ex: bind "b" "say Random Crits are Fair and Balanced"

What to do if your f keys don't work (ex: pressing F4 in MvM mode doesn't "ready" your character):
  • If your f-keys don't work, check for an "fn" key on your keyboard. You'll need to hold that whilst pressing the desired f-key for the key to register.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Special Keys:
Some computers have extra keys on the right side of the standard keyboard. This keypad has things like a "Num Lock" and a larger Zero key. These keys have different ids when binding. (Ex: Keypad 1 is KP_END.) You can figure out what a key's ID is by temporarily setting it in the options menu, then canceling.

Bots 101
Spawning in/despawning bots:
  • Spawning in bots: tf_bot_add
    • "tf_bot_add" can be fully extended to tf_bot_add [amount] [team] [class]—so, for example, tf_bot_add 10 blue heavyweapons
  • Despawning bots: tf_bot_kick bot name
    • You will need to use quotation marks (") in order to despawn in bots with more than one word in their name
      • Ex: tf_bot_kick "The Combine"
    • tf_bot_kick all will kick all bots on the server
    • tf_bot_kick *team* will kick all bots on one team (Ex: tf_bot_kick red)
  • There IS a cap to how many bots you can spawn in. It should be 23.

If you want bots to lock what class they're on you can use these following commands:
  • tf_bot_keep_class_after_death 1 and tf_bot_reevaluate_class_in_spawnroom 0
    OR
  • tf_bot_force_class class name
    • use tf_bot_force_class 0 to reset this

Fun Commands
  • tf_bot_warp_to_me
  • tf_bot_taunt_victim_chance number

FIXING BUGS WITH BOTS:
  • To get Medieval Mode to fully function with the bots type in tf_bot_melee_only 1
    • You can reset this with tf_bot_melee_only 0
  • Heavy bots are recognized as "heavyweapons" in the console instead of "heavy".
  • If the bots aren't moving on your map, type in nav_generate (When you do this, your game will generate 'nav mesh', which is used to determine how the bots move. This will freeze your game for a few to several minutes, don't worry, that's normal). After this, type nav_analyze, which will save the nav mesh to your computer so you don't have to use the nav_generate command everytime you load a specific map. See "navigation mesh" for more details.
  • Bots aren't compatible with payload race maps. (Execept for Engineers, snipers and spies)
  • Bots will know if you are a disguised spy unless you disguise and cloak at one point in applying the disguise (minus YER stab disguises)
  • You can have more than 12 people per team, just a maximum of 24 people/bots in one server.
  • I cannot find a way to make bots build more than one type of building, since that would mess up their programming and force them to man two buildings at once. Try downloading a mod for this.
  • MvM mode does not work with bots
Puppet Bots
"Puppet bots have no AI code and cannot move or act on their own. These bots can be used like puppets though: players can manipulate them to follow the player's commands such as following the player around and firing their weapons. Puppet bots are mainly used for testing purposes and can also create stunning visuals if manipulated accordingly." - TF2 Wiki

Create puppet bots:
bot -teamnameornumber -classname -name
  • teamnameornumber specifies which team the bot is on. This can be RED or 1; BLUE or 0.
  • classname is the...well...class name. This can be Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper or Spy.
    • You may need to use the command mp_teams_unbalance_limit setanumberlike30here so the bots aren't forced to join the opposing team when you try to add too many bots to one particular side. I'm still testing how puppet bots work.
  • name sets the bot's name.
  • targetdummy makes the bot invulnerable and it cannot lose health.
  • teleport teleports the bot to where your cursor is facing.
Example: bot -team red -class Spy -name Joe

More commands:
  • bot_kick name - kicks the desired bot. Just replaced name with the bot's name.
  • bot_changeteams - forces bots to switch teams.
  • bot_changeclass name classname - forces a bot to change classes. Ex: bot_changeclass Joe Engineer
  • bot_command nameorall command - executes a command in the console on behalf of the bot. You can type in the name of the bot or use all to make execute the bot on behalf of all the bots.

There is a lot more you can do with puppets bots that is missing from this section. You can use the link below to see an extensive list of the possible commands:
https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Bots#Puppet_bots
Uneven Team Numbers/No Autobalance
Uneven Team Numbers/No Autobalance
  • If you want uneven team numbers (one team has 2 or more players than the other team), type in mp_teamsunbalancelimit number. Set number to your desired number. mp_teamsunbalancelimit 5 would mean that one team can have up to 5 more players/bots than the other team without any autobalance or team limit mechanics kicking in. Then, type the command mp_autoteambalance 0.

Let me know if there's any problems with these commands. Valve might have changed how this works.
Infinite Sentries/Buildings
Buildings:

Sentry Guns:
FULL COMMAND (BLU LEVEL 3 SENTRY GUN INFINITE AMMO): ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_sentrygun teamnum 1 defaultupgrade 2 spawnflags 8
FULL COMMAND (RED LEVEL 3 SENTRY GUN INFINITE AMMO): ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_sentrygun teamnum 2 defaultupgrade 2 spawnflags 8
  • First, specify that you are the Sentry Gun's owner by typing ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; (with a space after the semicolon)
  • To create a level one Sentry Gun, then type in ent_create obj_sentrygun at where ever you are faced
  • If you want to change the sentrygun from blu team to red team (or vice versa), you would follow up your command with teamnum 1, 2 or 3. 1 is a sentry gun that looks blu, 2 is a sentry gun that looks red, and 3 is a sentry gun that shoots at both teams.
  • If you want to create a level 2 or level 3 sentry gun, you would then type number 0, 1 or 2. 0 is level one, 1 is level two and 2 is level three.
  • You can add spawnflags after that to give a sentry gun different properties.
    2-Invincible
    4-Can be upgraded
    8-Infinite Sentry gun Ammo
  • Ex: "spawnflags 10" (spawnflags 2+8) would make the sentry gun invincible and have infinite ammo.

  • Example: ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_sentrygun teamnum 2 defaultupgrade 2 spawnflags 10 would create a level three red sentry gun owned by the player that is invincible and has infinite ammo.
NOTE: If you add the ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; part of the command, the game will see that you, the player, own the sentry gun, and the gun will not attack you regardless of the sentry's team affiliation. (For example, if you are a RED player, and spawn a BLU sentry gun owned by you, the sentry gun will not attack you despite being on the opposite team because it sees that you are its owner.

I do not know how to make a mini sentry

Teleporters
FULL COMMAND (LVL 3 ENTRANCE, NOT INVINCIBLE, BLU TEAM): ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_teleporter teleportertype 1 defaultupgrade 2 teamnum 1
FULL COMMAND (LVL 3 EXIT, NOT INVINCIBLE, BLU TEAM): ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_teleporter teleportertype 2 defaultupgrade 2 teamnum 1
FULL COMMAND (LVL 3 ENTRANCE, NOT INVINCIBLE, RED TEAM): ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_teleporter teleportertype 1 defaultupgrade 2 teamnum 2
FULL COMMAND (LVL 3 EXIT, NOT INVINCIBLE, RED TEAM): ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_teleporter teleportertype 2 defaultupgrade 2 teamnum 2

How it works:
  • Begin by specifying that you are the person that is creating the teleporter with ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; (With a space after the semicolon) Otherwise the game won't know who created the teleporter and it won't work.
  • Then, to spawn in a teleporter type in ent_create obj_teleporter.
  • You then should specify whether you are creating an entrance or an exit. Follow up your command with teleporter type __, replacing ___ with 1 (for an entrance) or 2 (for an exit).
  • Then, add teamnum 1 or 2 to change whether the teleporter is red or blu. 1 is for blu, 2 is for red.
  • To change the level of the teleporter, then add defaultupgrade 0, 1 or 2. 0 is level 1, 1 is level 2, 2 is level 3.
  • You can continue by adding spawnflags.
    • spawnflag 2 = invincible
    • spawnflag 4 = upgradable
    • spawnflag 6 = invicible and upgradable
    • (Spawnflag 8 does nothing)
  • So, for example, an invincible upgradable level 3 red teleporter entrance would look like this: ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_teleporter teleportertype 1 defaultupgrade 2 teamnum 2 spawnflags 6

Dispensers
FULL COMMAND (BLU LEVEL 3 DISPENSER NOT INVINCIBLE): ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_dispenser teamnum 1 defaultupgrade 2 spawnflags 4
FULL COMMAND (RED LEVEL 3 DISPENSER NOT INVINCIBLE): ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_dispenser teamnum 2 defaultupgrade 2 spawnflags 4
  • First, specify the Dispenser as yours. Type in ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; (with a space after the semicolon)
  • Now we have to actually create the dispenser. Then type in ent_create obj_dispenser
  • Now we will specify which team it appears to belong to. Continue your command with teamnum 1 or 2. 1 is blu, 2 is red.
  • Now determine what level dispenser it is. Type defaultupgrade 0, 1 or 2. 0 is a level 1 dispenser, 1 is a level 2 dispenser, 2 is a level three dispenser.
  • We can add spawnflags to make the dispenser do cool things!
    • spawnflag 2 = invincible
    • spawnflag 4 = upgradable
    • spawnflag 6 = invicible and upgradable
    • (Spawnflag 8 does nothing)
  • Ex: "spawnflags 6" (spawnflags 2+4) would make the dispenser invincible and upgradable.
  • Your full command should look something like ]ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_dispenser teamnum 2 defaultupgrade 0 spawnflags 2 depending on how you customized the building.

  • Invincible sapped buildings still do not operate.
Infinite Ammo, Health, Mvm Currency, 100% crits, etcetera...
Restore Ammo clips, health, metal and ammo capacity
Impulse 101
  • Does NOT restore cloak meters, charge meters and recharge meters (i.e. Soda Popper jump boost or Dead Ringer cloak cooldown time).

Infinite Health
hurt me -number
  • Make sure to add a NEGATIVE sign (the minus key "-") to your number to HEAL your character. Otherwise, you will hurt it.
  • Replace number with your desired health value.

buddha
Prevents player health from dipping below 1 in a single attack (you can't be one-shot by a crit explosive, for example). You can still die from drowning and other objects like falling off cliffs, though.

Übercharges & Power-ups:
  • addcond 51-Hidden Übercharge (Like Mvm bots before they are allowed to attack; you will only appear as invincible when you are attacked. Bots will behave as if you were under a normal Übercharge)

  • addcond 69-Fire damage immunity

  • addcond 102-If you have any watch on, you go into a Dead Ringer cloaking state

    Mannpower Buffs/Magic Spells:
  • addcond 89-If you are holding a Mannpower power-up, this command allows you to drop a buff/power-up. (Default key: "L")
  • addcond 90-Strength Power-up: Double damage for all weapons and distance damage fall-off immunity

Addcond commands can be removed using removecond ____
For example: removecond 68

Summoning Objects:
  • ent_create item_ammopack_small
  • ent_create item_ammopack_medium
  • ent_create item_ammopack_full
  • ent_create item_healthkit_small
  • ent_create item_healthkit_medium
  • ent_create item_healthkit_full
  • currency_give amount Gives you MvM currency; up to 30 thousand.
Spawning Entities
As per usual, point your crosshair on an entity and type ent_remove to get rid of an entity.

Merasmus
ent_create merasmus

Monoculus
ent_create eyeball_boss

Horseless Headless Horseman
ent_create headless_hatman

Skeletons
ent_create tf_zombie

Halloween Bosses Information
  • You can add teamnum 0, 2, 3 (Neutral, RED, BLU) (Neutral entities will attack both teams)
  • modelscale [number] (Ex: modelscale 5. 1 means "100%", so 1 will be default size)

Mann Versus Machine Tanks
ent_create tank_boss
Additionally, you can add a space and add these:
  • speed (Ex: speed 500)
  • modelscale (Ex: modelscale 2. This command should come after the speed command if you are inputting both)
Please note that spawning tanks are usually bugged. They have very low health, and on payload maps, they will follow the payload tracks and explode on touching the payload.
Change the Round Timer Settings
ent_fire team_round_timer addtime number
Adds a total amount of seconds to the round timer where number is. You can subtract time by adding a negative number. ent_fire team_round_timer addtime 300 will add ~5 minutes to that game.

ent_fire team_round_timer pause
Pauses the round timer. The round can still end if the objective is completed.

ent_fire team_round_timer resume
If the timer is paused, this will resume the timer.

ent_fire team_round_timer disable
This will disable the timer altogether—the round can only be ended by completing objectives.

ent_fire team_round_timer enable
If the timer is disabled, this will enable the timer again.

tf_flag_caps_per_round
How many times the CTF flag must be captured before the round ends.

tf_bot_flag_kill_on_touch 1
Enables bots being killed once touching the flag. Type this command, but type 0 instead of 1 to undo this.

mp_bonus_round_time
Time after the round ends before the next one starts; the end game critical phase.

tf_ctf_bonus_time
Time where people receives crits after the round ends
Show Your Framerate
cl_showfps numberhere
0 - None
1 - Real time
2 - Rounded, whatever that means
HUD settings & Cinematic Views
To disable/enable your HUD:
cl_drawhud 1
cl_drawhud 0

WARNING: You may want to bind a key to re-enable your HUD, sometimes the game will get stuck whilst your HUD is off.

Free roaming:
noclip
"noclip" means that your character will clip through the ground. This won't kill you unless you walk into an area that causes you to die from environmental damage.
You will move faster in noclip than normally walking.

thirdperson
Enables third person view. Can only be reset with thirdperson 0

firstperson
Enables first person view (even during taunts). Can only be reset with firstperson 0

Fun Settings
  • addcond 74—Doubles player size and forces third person view
  • addcond 75—Halves player size and forces third person view
  • camortho—0 fov (requires sv_cheats 1, but there is a bug which lets you enable camortho in a singleplayer server then join a multiplayer server with it enabled)
Ultra High Graphics Settings
Did you know TF2's graphics were nerfed for a decade because Mac users would crash unless the graphics settings were turned down?

mat_picmip
Controls texture resolution. Takes numbers on a range from -10 to 2, with -10 being the highest quality and 2 being the lowest.

r_lod
Objects that are far away from the camera are rendered at a lower resolution. By default, -1 lowers details on objects from far away. Setting the value to 0 means models will render at the same quality no matter what distance.

r_rootlod
Maximum variable is 0, where the game will always render highest quality models.
Hide Viewmodels
r_drawviewmodel 0 hides your viewmodels
r_drawviewmodels 1 stops hiding your viewmodels
Navigation Meshes
Navigation Meshes are how the bots move around.

nav_generate Generates the map that allows bots to move around in. This will lag your game a lot, and this will take at least a few minutes to fully process.
nav_analyze Saves and processes your navigation mesh for a certain map. This means when you load in your map later, the navigation mesh will still be there.
nav_save (I believe this saves your navigation mesh, but does not compute how the AI should respond to it)

The rest of this section is for more advanced users.
nav_edit 1 Allows you to view the navigation mesh.
nav_edit 0 Disallows you to view the nagivation mesh.
nav_begin_area Starts creating a flat nav mesh piece.
nav_end_area Completes a nav mesh piece.
nav_mark Selects a navigation mesh piece. Will deselect the target navigation mesh piece if this is typed onto an already highlighted area.
nav_delete_marked This (should) delete a marked navigation mesh area
nav_disconnect Disconnects target area with highlighted area.
  • nav_disconnect_all_outgoing_oneway While a navigation mesh piece is marked, the other navigation piece that you're facing will be disconnected from each other
nav_connect Adds an outgoing oneway connection; connect a oneway connection from the reverse side to make it a twoway connection.
nav_splice Once an area is highlighted and another area is on your crosshair, nav_splice will create a 'block' in between the two that can be angled.
tr_walkway settings: Making the Map Work Properly
sv_allow_point_servercommand always
This can be used for the map tr_walkway to allow bots to spawn. Type in this command and re-join/re-create a tr_walkway server.
Commands for Nerds/Modders
Debug commands:
  • tf_debug_damage—Gives information on recent damage done to the player
  • tf_debug_flamethrower—The player will see flamethrower flame particle hitboxes
    cl_showpos
  • Shows your exact location in coordinates
Extra Commands
These are commands that I couldn't find a proper place for anywhere else.
  • quit—quits the game.
  • use—it switches your character to use a certain weapon. It's basically you using the mouse wheel to scroll or pressing the numbers at the top of your keyboard, but in coding form. (Ex: use tf_weapon_shotgun_soldier, use tf_weapon_stickbomb)
  • reload Reloads your connection to a server—It would be like the "refresh" key equivalent for a web page.
  • host_timescale speeds up or slows down the game.
  • +left makes your character spin left. Use -left to cancel this
  • +right makes your character spin right. Use -right to cancel this
    • cl_yawspeed x increases/decreases your spinning speed. Replace "x" with your desired number
  • map cp_cloak
    • ...
  • td_buyback is the command used to buy an instant respawn in Mann versus Machine. It used to be used as an exploit which gave people infinite money.
  • join_class numberhere allows you to join as a particular class. You can type join_class 0 to join as a spectator, I think.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cheaters in Tf2
------------------------------
Bots that are hacking usually steal names form another player on their team. Type "Status" in the console to find the two players with identical names, then compare the amount of time they've spend on the server.
The user with less time is the hacker. Find their player ID (2–3 digit number). Use "Callvote kick ID" into console to trigger a kick—this will make sure you're kicking the right person.
Credit to user Poppy on YouTube for thinking of the idea

TLDR:
  • Status — Gives you a list of information, including the amount of time players have spent on the server and what their associated ID is.
  • Callvote kick ID — Calls a vote to kick someone, using their ID generated from the Status command. Replace "ID" with the target's number

is there a command for infinet charge I saw that solar light was using it in a vid but didnt show command
Jam  [Autor] 19. Okt. um 13:41
Northway, I have updated the command. This should work now

BLUE SENTRY, INFINITE AMMO:
ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_sentrygun teamnum 3 defaultupgrade 2 spawnflags 10

RED SENTRY, INFINITE AMMO:
ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_sentrygun teamnum 2 defaultupgrade 2 spawnflags 10

Remember that if you set an enemy-colored sentry gun to be owned by you, the game will get confused and think that it's a friendly. So if you're on the red team and spawn a blu sentry gun owned by you, that blu sentry will not attack you even though you're a red player because the game sees that you're the building owner.

The reason why your sentry guns do not have infinite ammo is because spawnflags is set to 6, not 10 (my fault since I incorrectly listed 6, not 10, as the correct number in the guide). Also remember not to add any commas!

Let me know if that still does not work for you

ent_fire !picker setbuilder !player; ent_create obj_sentrygun teamnum 3 defaultupgrade 2 spawnflags 6,
it didnt shoot both team, only red, but it also didnt have infinte ammo

Yes, you probably hit the entity limit by spawning in that many epic sentry guns
