This is a generic Steel Cupola Caboose from the late forties onwards. This particular model doesn't really follow a specific design and is mostly free-handed.
Cabooses were used on almost all North American trains up untill about the 40s when Diesels and electronics took over. They were used to house the conductor and brakeman. Before freight cars had automatic brakes, they were also used in a similar way to the British Brake Van.
The cupola was raised so that the brakeman could watch the train. Early car were low slung and easy to see over. They also had a much different bearing on the axle than what is on modern equipment. That bearing liked to overheat if not kept properly oiled and they would smoke quite a bit. The cupola was used to watch for these bearings
Another type of caboose would be the "bay window", wich had extensions on the side of the car instead of the cupola on top (Coming soon)

Model clocks in at 732 bricks and is my "smallest" creation for the rails (aside from the Trackmobile, obviously)
There is no interior. It is not walkable and an inaccessable interior would have taken up too many bricks for something you won't see.

Feel free to put new liveries on this car, as I am only uploading this one with my fictional road on it. Just remember to put credit in the description.

Enjoy!
