General

• All quests are beatable.
  
• Do not get stuck on trying to "beat a quest first to get it out of the way". Instead delay quests until you feel you have the skills, lures, weapons and ammo. Sometimes you benefit a lot from getting better as a player and unlock more things before continuing the questline.
  
• In quests where you need to create hunting pressure you often need to hunt 4 animals in the same spot so that the pink/purple hunting pressure blots overlap.
  
• Nights are between 19.00 (7pm) and 05:00 (5am).
  
• Quests that require ground blind can be beaten with a portable ground blind.

Weapons

• To finish all quests you need to unlock all handguns and bows and up to the Coachmate Lever .45-70 in rifles. You only need the basic Caversham Steward 12G shotgun.
  
• For "Sommerfest" you only need one of the weapons, so having the Rhino 454 or Hawk Edge CB-70 is enough.
  
• The .270 Stradivarius rifle can be used instead of .270 Huntsman.

Finding the right animals

• Always try to interact with need zones. Having discovered plenty of need zones early allow you to faster complete missions later.
  
• If a specific species can't be found in the designated area, try a different time of the day. Also look for nearby need zones. Once you see tracks you can follow them to need zones to figure out when the animal will pass the region.
  
• Sometimes region borders are important. You can use your mobile phone to make sure you stay at the right side of the border while walking about.
  
• If a specific quest animal can't be found at the specified area (or you mistakenly killed it without following requirements), try restarting the game to make it respawn. Also make sure it have no hunting pressure (hunt elsewhere for awhile).
  
• If you can't finish quests where you need to find tracks from different animals or unique animals from the same species, try to interact with different track-types (including blood splatter).
  
• Animals of a specified weight might not be available in the area you are hunting in. Check different places for heavier specimen.
  
• For "A ton of meat", boars at +100kg are common in the northeast Ritterstein and Müllerwald.
  
• Tichenau/Ernsdorf = Bison. Bohndorf/Jonsdorf = Red Deer. Ritterstein/Müllerwald = Boar. Spreeberg Lake = Fox.
  
• For "The Fox And The Scope", have a look at -4700, 8888. This is a hill looking over the Petershain Turbines where plenty of foxes play in the pinetree plantation below (similar to the picture you get when you look at the mission). This is a great spot to snipe a fox from 200.00 m.

GOLD

• Before going for a GOLD score, you need Consecutive Harvest at 100%. This means you must have first harvested five animals in a row before going after the gold one. The count is saved between sessions. It will however be reset to zero if you wound animals that you do not harvest, especially if you wound an animal and then quit or restart the game before you successfully harvest it. For this reason, do not spray bullets randomly at anything you see. Take your time to aim properly and be ready to track down anything you shoot at.
  
• Track Knowledge 3/3 is a great skill to find GOLD animals with since they are usually the heaviest in their species. This skill will allow you to find the location of trophy animals without bothering about sound, sight and scent.
  
• There is often a GOLD Red Deer spawning near the lake below the Bohndorf Lookout Point in the morning. Its a good one for the many GOLD Red Deer missions you will get.

Heartshot

• For "Don't Ruin The Goods" you need a heartshot. Heartshots on deers is a good skill to practice. Its required for other quests as well and makes GOLD ratings easier. Try hitting the lump on their chest while they face you.
  
• With a bit of luck, it is possible to do Conni #10 (heartshot a deer at Petershain Tower Ruin) without the accuracy or stability archery perks. At least the roe deer are plenty in the area with a lot of bushes to hide in.

Photography

• For the photography missions like "A Picture For Her Book", use "p" to equip the camera. You need to be close, within 30m. It doesn't matter if vegetation hides the animal and it barely need to be visible on the shot. Try different zooms and try to take a few screenshots until you give up and move a bit closer.
  
• Unfortunately the game is inaccurate when it comes to detecting animals on screen which influence both photography and spotting. To get a feel of how inaccurate it might be, practice with the binoculars first. Note that you cannot always "spot" an animal with "E" even if its clearly within scope and range. Sometimes you have to zoom out or in a step to be able to detect it. The camera is just as inaccurate. This means that you might have to take repeated photographs at different zooms to make the game register the animal in the shot.
  
• Photography missions often need the animal up close. Skip the photography missions until you have an Antler Rattler caller. Use it to get the Fallow Deer close. It also helps to have the skill "Improvised Blind" as it allows you to get the Fallow Deer even closer. Also be vary of the wind so that the deer can't catch your scent and run away.
  
• For "The Deer And The Sea", Fallow Deer will occasionally pass the beach north of the peninsula in Köningsberg Lake. There are also needzones in the forest northwest of it. Prone on the beach and take the photograph when they walk by to finish this mission.
  
• For the mission where you need a 143+ trophy rating, look for Fallow Deer with weight 88-100kg (level 4). These are sometimes enough to complete the mission. But if you find a rare Level 5 you are lucky.
  
• For Bhandari #4 (picture of 3 different bison in Ernsdorf) you just need to get close to the herd. Allowing them to reach a rest area makes this easy.
  
• For Fleischer #9 (picture of a red deer up close in Bohndorf Canyon) you benefit from being able to hide and either the scent lure or the horn.
