YSS-1000 Sabre (Vanilla Drone)

The YSS-1000 Sabre starfighter is an elite strike craft classification in the UNSC Navy. It is best suited to air-to-air combat against starfighters and is usually built aboard carriers.

History
The Sabre was developed as part of a top-secret project to produce advanced starfighters. The fighter proved too expensive to enter full production given the loss of critical Inner Colony manufacturing hubs to the Covenant but served to great effect during the Fall of Reach to inflict heavy losses against overwhelming opposition. The craft's existence has been denied by three separate administrations.

Tactics
Sabres are best at defending against and bringing down large numbers of enemy strike craft but are vulnerable to anti-fighter defenses. Use them for defense against Seraphs bombers.

To use this ship: Access via antenna or the rear ejector, and remote control.

To dock this ship: Land inside a carrier or compatible ship and press "5" to lock the Sabre down. Then press "4" to turn off the ship's thrusters so it won't mess with the carrier vessel.
