Riviera Logistics (3-4)

Beskrivelse
Required DLCs:
- Riviera Line in the Fifties: Exeter - Kingswear Route Add-On
- Western Hydraulics Pack Add-On
- European Loco & Asset Pack

Scenario: Standard
Difficulty: Advanced (yellow)
Duration: 38mins

This little series is about the logistics around the Riviera Line to deliver goods and supplies to the local industries and of course to please the tourists for a comfortable stay.
You are one of the many invisible workers to get things going by delivering your load on time - even when things seem to get delayed due to passenger trains with a higher priority.
So 'high-speed' is not the aim of this series. Finally you will have explored the entire route and probably you may have seen places you haven't seen before.
It would be an advantage if you are familar with all three locos - but also being familiar with operating, shunting and the signalling of course.

With a brand new Class52 you are just about to arrive in Exeter with a long and heavy consist of coal from the North. In Exeter you take over a couple of waggons with logs to be delivered to an industrial area not far away. Further activities have to be completed there before you get on your way to Teignmouth.

Hi chris, I see you have a 'hot' time :-... (same over here). Great to see that you have enjoyed part-3 as well. So, many thanks once more for your kind feedback. As a ''Dieselholic' this series was a great opportunity to drive a Diesel, but utilising a lot of steam locos. I think I mentioned it before, this route helped me a lot to familiarise myself to steam locos and I was able to gain quite a bit of experience. Cheers, Costy

Another interesting and realistic run thank you Coasty. Agree 100% with you on the routes and all four you mention are my favourite routes, particularly as I am a steam fan, but also for their extensive branches and opportunities. My main memories of railway are steam early diesels so possibly the old rose tinted spectacles?? Mind you the Western is nice to drive and an improvement on the Hymek and the Warship - sad they had such a short working life. Looking forward to part 4 - mind you sat here with an outside temperature of 38C might go for a Weardale scenario in the snow to see if it makes me feel a bit cooler. Cheers.

Hi RolandBP, many thanks once more for your kind feedback. Indeed the 50s/60s are also my favourite era having steam and diesel in parallel. Would love to see new routes similar to THIS one and of course the (classic) Woodhead Line, Weardale and surely Western Lines of Scotland. Hope you will enjoy the final part as well - then you may have explored the entire route end to end. Cheers, Coasty

Gosh it's been ages since I drove the class 52.
Thanks again for an interesting look at this awesome route with those great Steam locos that came with it so many years ago.
I just loved all the Steam mixed in with the new diesel power, what a great and interesting era it was. You certainly bought it all to life.

Hi slugsmasher, Many thanks for your kind feedback and of course for taking the time to play this little series as well. Great to see that you liked it. I also only discovered some of the areas while creating this series - hence I couldn't resist to show it to others asl well :-). Cheers, Coasty

Thanks for this series, a lot of fun with some character. This part 3 is my favorite with the extra switching duties in areas not visited in other scenarios. Hope to see more of this type work in the future.
