Escape closes everything except the PDA, which is annoying as hell. I know a lot of people accidentally open the pause menu because it's the menu closing key for every crafting menu in Subnautica, and for most games ever made.

There's nothing that breaks immersion more than a slight inconsistency in UI control that causes a minor annoyance, so in case you didn't figure it out, here's the trick::

1) Go to keybindings in the options menu
2) Select the empty secondary keybind for the PDA (next to tab)
3) Press escape, which will close the keybind menu, but still save the keybind
4) Enjoy an entirely consistent menu-closing immersion experience


Yes, it's literally that simple. Yes, many people do not know this.

+Every menu closes with escape
+Doesn't mess with anything else (probably)
+Makes you cooler

Cons
-Can't set a secondary key for the inventory (just replace tab lol)
-Dermatologists HATE you
