Description
After seeing the massive deployment of nuclear/ballistic missiles and maybe one or two atmospheric
frigates we at McTec decided to come up with some means of countering these weapons.
To do this we decided to use a set of camera lock on homing missiles with low explosive yield to
knock down approaching targets up to 10kms away.

After a few tests we even managed to intercept one nuclear missile (it took us 6 shots...but hey
those aren't easy to aim at anyway...so not bad really). This may not sound like much but keep in
mind that approaching nukes aren't easy to intercept and even CWIS has a few problems with them
as they are far to close to their intended target before they'll decide to react...causing great damage
to base structures and aforementioned defenses. So it is best to shoot down the missiles before they
come too close.

Well and you could also use these missiles to shoot down low flying cargo ships I suppose...

How to use:
Get into the control chair and use the lock on camera...press 1 for camera view and 2 to launch
a missile...try to keep the camera pointing right at the target while launching. Not as easy as it
sounds...Big ships however are easy to aim at.Keep in mind that you can lock onto targets 10kms
away.

Weapons:
-------------
4x low explosive yield Interceptor missiles.

Scripts:
----------
Alysius:"Easy Lidar Homing Missile","Launch Control","Missile Status"

Tip:
-----
Have more than one of these platforms because it will probably take a few tries to lock onto
just one approaching missile...

After a while of playing single player with the Ground Invasion mod turned on i managed
to shoot down one of those flying frigates. My drone tanks finished the job when it came crashing
down...it was an epic sight to behold. Now that is what I call a power fantasy.^^
Come to think of it...would've been a bit of a bummer if that thing crash landed on top of my base...

Changes:
-------------
I've added a laser pointer to help with the aiming. If the MART script doesn't work while you are
sitting in the pilots console/seat that is not your fault (or Whip's). That was just me adding a
remote control so that I can control this platform (or multiple of them) via antenna. So you will
have to access the remote control.Sorry.

-Have fun.

naw you're not an idiot. as it seems the script has problems when used in multiplayer (at least when using with merge blocks)...that is if the missiles don't launch at all. another problem would be trying to get the target right which does require some pinpoint accuracy and can be a pain at times. so...no you are not an idiot.I'll have a look at it myself.

I have a problem. as i uderstand you have to aim with this laser sight and when when i aim and then i launch missiles. I wait.. and i wait and wait... teh question is this broken or im just a idiot? (the target was a big ship)

oh right...access you can move the camera by accessing the remote control block...space engineers has a problem with having two cockpits and I added the remote control block later so that I could access the platform from far away (like in another base).sorry about that.^^

LordZ 19 juil. 2018 à 12h19

I meant activate the jump drive, then BEFORE it jumps, activate the timer
McTec Ind.  [créateur] 11 mai 2018 à 16h29
you usually jump out 2km near the target,so you will still have to do the piloting manually...I'm not sure if remote controlled jumps are possible...though I doubt it.
TheSilverInfinity 11 mai 2018 à 15h50
wait really?
Well - you could just activate the jumpdrive manually or via remote (if possible) then activate a timer for the missile script
McTec Ind.  [créateur] 10 mai 2018 à 23h22
jump drives don't work over timers and you can't jump into obsticles...I allready tried that.^^

all you would have to do is make a jump drive module or something similar that your rockets could attach to. Then, you could set up a timer to activaate the jump drive and then launch the rockets.
