Playing Demoman in Empire Escalation

Have you ever wanted to or been forced to play Demoman in Empire Escalation? Really want to but just don't know what to do? Placed stickies in one place and medics come out another? Got kicked for not blowing up the uber medics? This guide is definitely for you.

Introduction
So you want to play demo huh? It's a tough job and if you don't get every medic you might face the votekick!

Make sure to use the Scottish Resistance because more stickies = more damage and with more damage you have the potential to take out larger giants such as giant soldiers which have 3800 health. If you don't have one I will give you one free of charge. Mine is a Strange Professional Killstreak with Team Shine and Tornado.

The first step for upgrading is to not upgrade your grenade launcher, only your stickybomb launcher. The second step is to make sure you can spew out stickies quickly so upgrade your firing speed and reload speed, then maybe get a health on kill, over the waves max out damage and reload speed, then get 2 clip size so you can place 14 stickies without having to reload (This is really handy because you can put out all 14 stickies in 1 canteen). Around wave 3 if your medic is unreliable or only giving kritz to the heavy make sure to stock up on crit canteens and refill them when you die or using 2 way teleporter

Wave 1
The first victims of your sticky trap will be the Armored Sandman scouts, which have 3000 health each. Nothing some crit stickies can't stop. The First one comes from the bottom area, so get a medic to kritz you before the wave starts and place the 14 stickies in a small pile just to the right of the railing. After this there is another identical scout that comes from up the top. After the first scout, get the medic to kritz you again and place another pile of 14 stickies down the bottom of the stairs, and stand a little bit back because the stun can actually kill you if you dont look out.




After this there will be some shotgun heavies, you can let your team take them out or spam a few stickies at them, but it's more important to place a large pile of stickies in the pit, make sure to keep your sticky launcher loaded as there will be 3 always firing giant pyros with 4 Uber medics each coming in quick succession. If you have crit stickies you can one shot them, otherwise just make sure to kill the medics




Wave 2
For this wave, make sure to get 2 ticks on damage in your sticky launcher, this will enable you to kill the giant heavies in one detonation without the risk of losing the hangar


The wave starts with some giant rapid fire hunstman snipers up on the catwalk. Although on the HUD it will show them as regular hunstman snipers, Due to them not having the miniboss attribute which makes the icon have a red background. 3 of these snipers spawn with 1 uber medic each and will become a pain if you don't kill them before they get to an open area. Place 3 piles of stickies with 4 or 5 in each pile. Don't stand on the catwalk, but stand on the platform closer to Gate A.


After these 3 Snipers spawn get back to the catwalk and lay a small pile of all your stickies. The Huo long heater heavies have 5000 health each and spawn 28 seconds apart so you have some time to get a medic to give you some kritz.

After these heavies are dead go down to the pit and see how your heavy's doing with the little robots. Although it's tempting to blow them up there are more rapid fire hunstmans to deal with. Place a small bundle of stickies in the middle of the pit, soon will come 2 Rapid fire hunstmans and a black box soldier. You can kill the hunstmans but your heavy will have to finish off the giant black box soldier.
Now come more Huo-long heater heavies, but this time, not from the catwalk, and with 4 Uber medics.


Wave 3
Remember this wave has Engineer bots spawning behind you, so tell your engineer to put his sentry in "the spot"

Before the round starts, place your stickies in a dense pile, because the wave starts with a giant shotgun heavy. Don't get distracted, because there are 2 more giant shotgun heavies with 3 uber medics each.

Now feel free to spam stickies and use your grenade launcher because there will be a tonne of small robots after this. Help your team and get the robot scouts coming from up the top. Keep an eye out because there will be another shotgun heavy spawning with uber medics so place another bundle of stickies so you can get them as well as lay some damage on the heavy. Hopefully after this he should have around 900 health.


3 more blast Soldiers with 5 medics each. Pretty easy.


Wave 4
This is the part of Mannhattan where every medic dies (Crit Demos). Don't be part of this. Place a neat line of stickies up on the catwalk and stand back. You won't kill them all but your soldier should come and help you after the main swarm.


After you've dealt with them go down to the pit and place a small clump of (crit) stickies. Now comes a giant soldier and giant quick fix medic. The aim is to take out the soldier and save the robot medic for your medic to ubersaw, so he can give you kritz again for the next one but if you kill both just use a crit canteen.

Now abandon your team to deal with more of those hellish demoman and put a bunch of stickies at the bottom of the stairs. 2 Giant FAN Scouts will come at the same time but the one up the top is a gatebot. These scouts both have a relatively low health, so you can take them out without help from your team.

Now for the Giant Crit Burst Fire Demos. T_TFBot_Giant_Demo_Burst, Attributes "AlwaysCrit" They have 3 uber medics each so place a standard pile of stickies for each one.


Wave 5
There aren't any uber medics this wave so you might think to switch off demo, but what is important are those giant scouts. Place 3 or 4 piles of stickies so that you can kill the Scouts when they run over the traps. resist the urge to spam as your heavy will finish them off, instead place the stickies again for the next bunch of scouts (There are 10 giant scouts that spawn in groups of 2s)

Tell your medic to save their shield because now there are incoming black box soldiers. They have 4200 Health, so you can kill one with 14 stickies, but after this you will have to replace your whole trap. There's no picture for this because it's pretty standard, just stay behind the shield or they will heal up to almost full health.



After the Giant Black Box Soldiers are gone, place a fairly spread out pile of crit stickies next to the railing, for the Shortstop scouts (which have 900 health each I think) Then place a large pile of crit stickies in the pit, and detonate when the steel gauntlet heavies drop.

Now for everyone's favourite crit heavies. You could get the scout to throw milk on them and let the heavy battle it out or you could place a bunch of stickies and steal his damage. There are 18 of these crit heavies so make sure to use a crit canteen.


PAY ATTENTION! There are more crit heavies incoming, but make sure to also place 5 or 6 stickies for the giant FAN Scout (See pictures)



Now come the 8 BONK! scouts, there are 2 groups of 4, If you deal any damage to them they will drink the bonk and run through so an instant kill is very important for these guys. Make sure to use a crit canteen and place your (crit) stickies at the top of the ramp.
Wave 6
By now you should have out damaged your own heavy, now it's time to show him how to play heavy! He's bad. The First boss you have has 60,000 Health (Really) but you he's not a problem. Buy 3 Crit canteens and stand behind where he drops out. This way there are 2 heavies shooting at him and he can only target one - which is preferably not you.

You might be thinking "What about the 20 uber medics?" good point but they come with the 20 crit soldiers and it's not worth laying traps, with 2 heavies you can let them pop and not be affected.

Upgrade firing speed and all of your resistances, kick the scout if he missed money and equip the warhood so you can be edgy. Use the brass beast or any variants as it has a 20% damage bonus and resistance when you have low health.

it would be better guide if you showed how you should upgrade, and usage of canteen. Also upgrades doesnt always have to be followed and you can play in your own style. For me I am type of person giving up reload speed upgrade to buy crit canteens. P.S i buy 3 crit canteen on the first wave for 3 giant pyros and finish em off in one shot.

on the wave five just 3 crit stickies are enougb to finish off 1 giant scout.
