Horror Story

Ever wanted to play horror maps without having to worry about noclipping co-players and use of weapons they shouldn't use? Then this is the addon you need.


Horror Story turns Garry's Mod into a full-fledged, fully compatible horror game. Features like noclipping and flashlights are blocked and you are given a crowbar and a lantern.


To open a map in Horror Story mode, just select Horror Story from the gamemode selection list (on the bottom right of the main menu) and click a horror map in the 'New Game' menu. Tutorial on YouTube

• This gamemode uses a modified version of the Cry of Fear Lantern, which was made by LordiAnders
  
• The dev lighter is the Lighter by Mr. Sunabouzu, made by Mr. Sunabouzu.
  
• The icons used in this game are made by Icons-Land[www.icons-land.com] and are used under the "Icons-Land Demo License Agreement"[www.icons-land.com].
  
• The Horror Story logo is Jack O Lantern[thenounproject.com] by Sagit Milshtein from the Noun Project[thenounproject.com].

This gamemode cannot convert non-horrormaps to horrormaps. The only thing this does is strip the weapons and restrict free movement (such as noclipping). It's not a horror map creation system.

• Easily manage player movement (no noclip, no flashlight, limited guns)
  
• Transforms single-player combat maps to multiplayer combat maps by making players unable to remove weapons (they receive a copy of the map)

• Plugins powered by OpenPlugins. Easily extend the functions of the gamemode without having to miss out on updates.

Press F1 to open the game overlay, this overlay contains your client-side settings (such as your HUD) and server-side settings (such as gameplay rules, a change map interface and the player list). If a map is finished, this overlay will also contain a "vote map" interface, but that's not done yet.

The following map maps have been tested with Horror Story. Launching one of these maps on your server will make them auto-mount to your download list (via workshop) so all joining players *should* download a map pack with high speed from Steam when they join the server.

The change level view contains only "Official" maps by default. At the bottom of the dialog is a checkbox to show all maps. This list of "Official" maps simply indicates maps that have been tested to work well. If you made a map and would like to see it show up as an official map, add me as a friend and send me a link to your map. All official maps must be on workshop!
