But i know it's unlikely that shooting a nos bottle will make it explode.
Just like shooting a normal oxygen tank will just go "whoosh" and distract the CI for five seconds.
While at it, Fireworks, gas cans and propane tanks won't explode or catch fire either unless you probably use incendiary rounds.
my bad, N2O is not flammable, it is explosive by given typical conditions. I had to check the net: https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/Nitrous-oxide#section=Safety-and-Hazards
(12.1.1GHS Classification)
According to the 2001 article, there was 18000 kg of N2O content, ignition occurs at the pump where it is hot, does not resemble a morden N2O tank (NOS brand) used in the automotive industry. If you shot a N2O tank it wont explode because there wasn't enough energy (power * time) to heat the content. Additionally, what I understand is (correct me if I'm wrong) it was stated the N2O was the source of ignition, the explosion was the flammable environment (oxygen).
It was also done practically, proved that when you shoot a NOS tank (well, yea okay it explodes, but not like a fiery exploding propane tank)

there's an entire PDF detailing how a N2O trailer blew up.
