I hazard to guess that the bug in regards to first Great General->Robot Matrix got something to do with .dll mods since I searched on the web and it appears with Vox Populi while I have been using Gaia+Sapiens.
So, rather than getting the Breakthrough in Technology pack, one should sub to...

Machine learning deep neural network, Valley of the Kings, Templo Mayor, Maracana, Ruhr district, Leptis Magna, Kujataa and Astronomical clock of Prague...

separately. Although there is no Leptis Magna either...

This is a little late, but here's what I'm seeing just for reference: whenever any player gets their first Great General (SOMETIMES their second) a RobotMatrix also appears. Weird thing is I originally had downloaded a mod pack with this one in it. I uninstalled the mod pack but the unit is still showing up. Hope that helps- either way great unit, and a lot of fun to use.

Update: seems like other AI nations also have these running around. Something is very wrong. Add a tech level requirement and costs, maybe?

ok, something very weird is happening, my classic era game has the Shoshone walking around with these. I guess change the era of the RobotMatrix unit into the information era instead of ancient?

I'm not sure I understood the bug properly. Because I thought it was one way but, from this last message, maybe I was wrong.

Don't worry, I just uncheck Future Worlds in the MODS menu. But Please try to fix that buy, because this mod is very fun to play

I'm sorry but, not knowing Vox Populi well, I do not know what to change for fixing this problem.

This mods comes with Vox Populi and it gives civs robots in early eras. It really spoils the game since you can't fight a RoboMatrix with a simple horseman. I'd love to unsuscribe this mod, but it comes with the whole Vox Populi pack and I need it to play other mods. Please fix it as soon as possible

This mod seems to periodically give civs robot matrixes instead of great generals
