CNC Civs - The Brotherhood of Nod

Kuvaus
Adds in the Brotherhood of Nod, (Tiberian Sun iteration,) into the game as a fully playable Civilization. Nod will receive a +1 boost to Science, Culture, and Faith yields from every Mine thanks to their unique ability, giving them an edge in the religious game, while also providing a boost to Science to allow them to research Technologies faster than other Civilizations. The Brotherhood of Nod's playstyle is geared towards conquest and expansion, as they become more powerful for every Mine they possess. The more expansive Nod is, the stronger they will become.

====!!!! IMPORTANT COMPATIBILITY NOTICE !!!!====
This mod requires the Brave New World expansion pack to work, and WILL NOT function properly without it. However, as with every other mod I have created, I have chosen not to modify the dependency setting to require Brave New World, so those that do not have it can use the mod as they please. However, the mod is almost guaranteed to be a horribly broken - but playable - mess without the second expansion pack, so if you do not have the Brave New World expansion pack, proceed into a game with this mod at your own risk.

====Unique Ability - Technology of Peace====
Every Mine improvement that the Brotherhood of Nod controls will provide +1 boosts to the Science, Culture, and Faith yields.

====Unique Unit 1 - Tick Tank====
The Tick Tank is a unique hybrid between a ranged siege unit and a frontline melee unit, possessing a powerful ranged attack that can be used to engage enemy forces from afar or soften up enemy fortified positions, with a range of two tiles. The Tick Tank must set up prior to firing of course, (Since it burrows into the ground to turn into a turret in-game,) but is quite well-suited to providing fire support when in this defensive mode. It also has a formidable melee attack that it can use against enemy forces on the front line, to engage the enemies of Kane up close and personal. Requires 1 Aluminum, and replaces the Modern Armor.

====Unique Unit 2 - Mobile Artillery====
The Mobile Artillery is the most powerful ranged artillery unit available to the Brotherhood of Nod, possessing a ranged Combat Strength value of 110 - almost double that of the base game's Rocket Artillery. This power enables the Mobile Artillery to devastate hostile armies from afar, and to smash enemy cities to pieces with their powerful long-range main cannons. This awesome power does come at a price however, as the Mobile Artillery must set up prior to firing unlike the Rocket Artillery it replaces, and is also much more vulnerable to enemy counterattacks, and must be protected by friendly forces. Requires 1 Aluminum.

====Credits====
Usernamehere, for making the mod.
Westwood Studios, for creating the Command and Conquer series.
All the respective creators of the artwork used.

Music tracks used:
The entire Tiberian Sun soundtrack, rather than just a single war and peace theme, has been used for the Brotherhood of Nod. (Except for the songs Mutants, Lone Trooper, and Dusk Hour, since they only played in Tiberian Sun while playing as GDI.) Tiberian Sun's Map Theme has been used for the Dawn of Man audio, the track Pharotek has been coded as the primary peace theme, and the track Nod Crush has been coded as the designated war theme.

====Known bugs====
- If you're having issues executing either a ranged or melee attack with the Tick Tank, use the action menu on the left side of the screen. It's a simple side effect of having a unit that can execute both types of attacks.

Report any other issues you find here. Whether it's a game-breaking mod-related crash, or a simple typo in a Civilopedia entry, I want to know about it so I can fix it as soon as possible.

What's your mod list?

Interesting Crash: The mod worked great for one play through. Now, it crashes every time I try to play as Nod. Not sure why it work once and never again. Hope this info helps the mod maker.

Okay. Well, great mod anyways. Best of luck going forward.

I'd definitely consider that, units and assets from Mental Omega or Twisted Insurrection sound fun :D

And...oh yep I just checked it sure is misspelled, dang

I'll keep this in mind next time I update this mod. I'd need more changes and fixes to justify an update though - I'm not making an entirely new version of a mod just to add one letter (and updating mods is dangerous and I recommend against doing it, fun fact)

BTW, I'm playing through as your Nod empire, and letting you know that you misspelled one of the spy names. It's meant to be "Maychek", not "Maycheck"
IkeFanboy64 18.1. klo 13.56
I understand. Still would be worth doing if you ever made universal versions of your C&C civs. If you do decide to do something like that, you should absolutely add some of the names and ideas from the Mental Omega and Twisted Insurrection mods for Red Alert 2 and Tib Sun respectively. (Doesn't have to be UA/UU/UBs from the mods, but perhaps that could be used to help name cities and spies)

For the city names suggestion, this Civilization is more about representing the Brotherhood of Nod's Tiberian Sun depiction, hence why it strictly uses only Tiberian Sun as its source material. Nothing from Tiberian Dawn or Tiberium Wars, and since this mod is also more about the Nod faction at face value rather than its mysterious origins and history, I personally don't think including biblical locations in its city name list would really fit that theme.

As for changing the Civilization's insignia to some sort of vector art, it would definitely look nicer if I did that (the triangular Nod logo does not translate well to a circular icon) but if I did that it just wouldn't be the same faction insignia used in Tiberian Sun itself which was the idea I was going for.
IkeFanboy64 17.1. klo 16.48
Oh, and also maybe have some more proper vector art for the empire's insignia.

Old mod, but I do think that the capital should be "The Land of Nod" (as that's where the name derives from), with the city names all being either important to Nod in the canon (I.E. Sarajevo, Cairo, Alexandria, Ayers Rock, etc.) or named after biblical locations (Sodom, Gomorrah, Nazareth, Garden of Eden, etc.)

@Usernamehere oh ok. My bad then.
