The Sandpiper

This corvette is a staple of militaries across the galaxy. Used by developing Alliances to establish an early military foothold, they have notoriously light armor that is designed to shear off in chunks when hit. Despite being fragile off the shelf, they are easy to upgrade with aftermarket materials. This has helped them remain relevant as a short-range exploration or smuggling ship all the way to the core.

The titanium armor and small shield generator improve the durability of multi-slot gunboat and keep the cost to a minimum. Although it does not have fighter bays, it comes with a small cargo hold capable of holding emergency supplies or contraband. Smugglers use the nimble craft to skip through fortified sectors and avoid patrols.
