The game you're currently playing is a co-op mod for Half Life 2 & Half Life 2 episodes but has branched out into a whole new game on it's own. You can play custom maps which are provided by the community on various servers.

1. Dont play alone. Synergy is meant for multiplayer gameplay. If its your playing Synergy without playing Half Life 2, you better quit Synergy and start singleplayer campaign (Half life 2). Its better for you to understand the whole story of the game.

2. Always be friendly. If a new player is asking some questions that make you facepalm, just answer them politely.

3. Dont mic spam. and If someone does mic spam, just mute them via options.

4. Don't always vote yes on the votes because if you spawn to many cars or spawn the cars in the wrong places, it may crash the server. And crash servers aren't fun! Use your vote wisely!


5. Always edit/config your keys before playing! Just go to the options and set the keys to fit your gameplay style. The most important keys to help you communicate and work with your team mates including voice chat, voice commands, giving ammo and health!

6. Don't rush through the game! This isn't Sonic the Hedgehog! You might potientially ruin another players experience.

Welcome to the right place to learn how to do things in synergy! Since most of the good stuff are commands, we'll share some commands to you! Please take note that these commands may or may not work due to permissions on a server so dont expect them all to work on all servers! Some server require a "!" infront of the chat to activate the commands! We may also list other guides through here as well.

How to spawn a car via vote:
Type into the chat "votecar" or/and "!votecar" to allow public voting for you to spawn a car. You will get options of what car and who gets it. Once the voting starts, get yourself in a open area and move your crosshairs above the ground. Once voting is done, the car may/may not spawn infront of you, depending on how much people voted for your car.

How to enable cheats on server:
Warning: Some servers may prevent cheating and may not work!
Open console by pushing "~", if you have it enabled. Enter in sv_cheats 1 into the console (Not chat!).

How to get the achievement:
Ever notice what the one achievement in the game is? Basically you have to attend a rare event that the devs hold on a random basis. It's extremely rare so I'd suggest you read up on it! More details

Why is my game so laggy?
- Chances are, its the server/host thats creating the lag. If you hit TAB button on your keyboard and look at the latency (AKA "ping") and notice several things. If you look at the differences between each player's latency, and you see only yours at a higher number, you might be to far away from the server and may require to move to a different server will less latency. If you see all the players numbers roughly 150 or higher, its the server, which may need a restart. Switch to another server with lower latency.
- Could turn your resolution down.
- If your number is average or close to other players and still experiencing lag. Your computer or software itself, may need to be looked at. First, close your game and go to your library. Right click "Synergy" and click properties. Click local files and click verify game's intergrity and let it load for a few minutes.
- If your still experiencing lag, please uninstall and reinstall the game. This should be the last resort.
