There are a couple of maps in the FAF vault where they're designed for a naval factory to be built first. 99% of the time you shouldn't.

Yes, MrClinker, that is correct.

I also believe, but I can't remember very well, but the original supcom campaign has you build some mass extractors and power generators and then a factory for this very reason, and I assume people learn from this and never changed how they started.
