E-02a 'Lancer' Escort/Interceptor

The E-02a ‘Lancer’ is a Light Cruiser designed to fulfil the role of an escort or heavy interceptor.
It is constructed primarily of light armour, with heavy armour reinforcement around vital areas. The lancer is jump capable, and has four cryogenic chambers and a medical facility on board to accommodate for long distance escort missions. The Lancer also possesses a drone bay, from which it can deploy a light reconnaissance drone giving the ship a degree of flexibility. It is propelled by combined hydrogen/ion thruster pack and a gravity accelerator to aid in reaching it's top speed. Each thruster type can be toggled off to conserve fuel.
A security system is also present on the ship, with an alarm that can be triggered by the crew or by the detection of a hostile player.
Sound effects are triggred on activating the hydrogen thrusters.
Arc furnaces and assemblers are also included to give the ship autonomy from supply lines

The ship has a pressurised interior, is modless and fully conveyored.

Usage:
This E-02a has been developed for territorial defence, forgoing the heavy plate armour commonplace on many other ships to allow for a high acceleration and faster response times when the ship is required to defend allied space. When an enemy vessel or fighter squadron is detected and deemed to be a threat the Lancer is often deployed with the first wave of interceptor fighters, forming the spearhead of a counter attack.
The ship’s agility also makes it ideal in the role of an escort, covering the flanks of larger vessels and using its firepower to rip apart enemy corvettes, fighters and cruisers that attempt to out move it.
