History:
the irl version is technically military-grade, but since WW2, Japan's not allowed to utilize its military in an agressive way. Unless they want to violate their peace treaty with the US, so this mech was repurposed for law enforcement units and anyone with enough money to afford a glorified high-tech paintball suit, which is literally what the Kuratas is.

However, this thing gan reach a top speed of approx. 18mph, and with the right modifications, can hold its own against mechs of over twice it's size. Kuratas may be small (only about 2.5x the height of the average human), but it is by no means weak. You see one of these rolling down the street, pray that the pilot's not ordered to hunt you down.

The original model was equipped with dual inline wrist-mounted machineguns, and a x20 SRM (Short Range Missile) pod on one shoulder (refitted to use bottle rockets instead of live rounds, as per the peace treaty between Japan and the US).
