Hello Community! I apologize now for my bad english,

Many people have the problem that when they push on the "Play" button it try to start the game but nothing happens. This Guide will help you!(works with the german version. english version tested one times and it works)








This will help you:
    2. Download the XThread.dll file.
    3. Go to steam/steamapps/common/company of heroes and make a copie of the old XThread.dll file and save it anywhere.
    4. Change the file in the steam folder (steam/steamapps/common/company of heroes) with the new file.(the old file have 20kb - 24kb and the new file 45kb. On the picture i have the new file.)
    5. Now it goes. Have fun.
Deutsche Anleitung:
Viele haben das Problem, wenn sie auf "Spielen" drücken, erscheint ein Fenster wo steht, dass es Company of Heroes startet, doch es passiert nichts.
Ich selber hatte es auch, jetzt möchte ich euch auch helfen!









Mit dieser Anleitung sollte es gehen:
    2. Downloade die XThread.dll Datei.
    3. Gehe nun in den Steam Ordner und suche nach der alten XThread.dll Datei im Company of Heroes Ordner =>steam/steamapps/common/company of heroes . Erstelle zur Sicherheit eine Kopie von der alten XThread.dll Datei und speicher sieergendwo ab. ( Die alte Datei beträgt ungefähr 20kb-24kb und die neue 45kb. Auf dem Bild habe ich schon die neue Datei.)
    4.Nun ersetze die alte XThread.dll Datei mit der neuen.
    5. Starte Company of Heroes und es sollte gehen. Viel Spaß beim spielen!

what happens at Steam i can't play Legacy Edition after reinstalling Steam, i can load but at the end i been asked to insert my COH: opposing Front Disc? i did that years ago and have no longer any discs

My game starts, but I can't play in Legacy Edition, because there is request for Talor of Valor disk..

Same I got the 404 for the dll as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks again guys.

Whenever I click on the link for the dll I get a 404 website error, if anyone could send me the dll directly I'd appreciate it!

hmm wüsste nicht wieso. Ich habe ebenfalls einen Ryzen, zwar den Ryzen 7 3700x aber mit dem läuft es bei mir. Wie man bestimmte Kerne einem Spiel zuweist, weiß ich auch nicht :/

Versuch mal bitte folgendes: In dem Installationsverzeichnis von CoH eine Verknüpfung von der RelicCOH.exe erstellen und für die Verknüpfung in den Eigenschaften>Kompatibilität einen Hacken bei "Vollbildoptimierungen deaktivieren" setzen. Dann über die Verknüpfung das Spiel starten.

Hallo @Tet, ich habe das genau so gemacht. Leider besteht das Problem weiterhin. Kann es sein das es an der CPU liegt? Das CoH damit nichts anfangen kann? Kann ich die Kerne irgendwie festlegen? Das Komische ist auch, das im Fenstermodus beim verschieben kurzzeitig das Spiel zu sehen ist. Echt komisch. Naja, zum Glück läuft es auf dem anderen Rechner Problemlos. Ist nur umständlich immer hin und her zu wechseln

Hey @Scorch, ich hab auf reddit etwas gefunden und eventuell klappt es auch bei dir.

Öffne Dokumente>My Games>Company of Heroes Relaunch und dort die Datei "local.ini". Such nach folgender Zeile: "screendevice=DirectX10 rendering device". Ändere DirectX10 zu DirectX9, also: "screendevice=DirectX9 rendering device" und speicher die Datei ab.

Hallo, hab beim starten Sound aber ein schwarzes Bild. Hab schon einiges probiert aber funktioniert hat bisher nichts. Das komische ist, auf meinem alten Rechner läuft es ohne Probleme.

Aktueller Rechner hat

AMD Ryzen 3900X
RTX 2080 Ti
32 GB RAM

der alte Rechner hat

Intel 4770K
GTX 1070
16 GB RAM

Beide mit Windows 10 aktuellen Treibern etc
