Assassin Overview
For centuries, assassins have been feared for their stealth and lethality. In Smite, they carry the same traits. Diving backlines and shreding easy enemy targets, they stalk their prey and wait for the best time to strike. Make sure that when you are choosing an assassin to play, that it fits your playstyle. This guide will give you basic information to help you make that decision.
Assassins:
  • Arachne
  • Awilix
  • Bakasura
  • Bastet
  • Camazotz
  • Da Ji
  • Fenrir
  • Hun Batz
  • Kali
  • Loki
  • Mercury
  • Ne Zha
  • Nemesis
  • Ratatoskr
  • Serqet
  • Susano
  • Thanatos
  • Thor
Gameplay Style
Each assassin has their own unique style of play but, you can seperate each by how they can perform in and out of team fights. Use this section to determine which play style suits you best and understand the limitations of each god:

In & Out
These assassins specialize in going in, dealing enough damage to finish off someone, and get the heck out of the fight to prepare for your next meal:
  • Bastet
  • Da Ji
  • Loki
  • Nemesis
  • Susano
  • Bakasura
Bruiser
Bruisers can constantly poke out the enemy team in team fights and gain pressure as well as put out damage so the rest of your team can finish the job:
  • Camazotz
  • Fenrir
  • Mercury
  • Ne Zha
  • Ratatoskr
  • Thor
Duel Masters
These gods might not be the most versatile in team fights but in the jungle, they can 1v1 most other gods. They specialize in high single target damage.
NOTE:This is NOT to say that they are great in "duel matches" but to point out that they can do loads of damage to a single target.
  • Awilix
  • Hun Batz
  • Kali
  • Serqet
  • Thanatos
  • Arachne
How to know if you would be a good assassin
Overview
In Smite, assassins are more of the scavenger death bringers in a sense. They wait for a team fight to occur and they pounce on anybody that straggles behind with low health. Bullying Mages, Hunters, and even other Assassins makes sure that their team losses a lot of pressure. Here is a simple quiz to figure out if you would be a good assassin or not:
  1. You will have to be patient for your prey to get low on health during fights
  2. You will have to position yourself so that you can easily get to enemies without putting yourself into danger
  3. At the end of the game, you will likely have less player damage than other roles but deal final blows on plenty of enemies
  4. You will more than likely have to stick in the backlines until opportunities like team fights or easy 1v1's show themselves
If you agree with this play style, than you will most likely be a great assassin. This is one of the best roles to start off with if you are new. Their adaptability and versatility make them useful to learn the game with.

In this series I like to show the work of Raynday as he gives a basic overview of how to be better at specific roles. Make sure to subscribe to him as he works really hard to improve the Smite community.
Lethal Tips:
Here is some basic information to keep in mind as you learn to play assassins:

Stay Aware
Make sure that during the loading screen, you acknowledge your enemies. Understand who has an escape and how often they can use it, who is squishy (easy to kill), and who you should avoid. This step might sound like a lot but as you play it will get easier and easier. Eventually, it will become habit.
Be Careful
Assassins aren't invincible. In fact, they are the easiest characters to kill so you have to make sure you don't put yourself into any situations that you can't get out of. A simple rule of thumb you can remember is to always have a way out. This applies from when you go in to when you need to dip out of the crime scene.
Be Sneaky
Try not to call too much attention to yourself. This role specializes in staying stealthy and killing people unexpectedly. Always be aware of where enemies may have warded and how to position yourself to set up for a kill.
Flank
This goes along with the last one. You are going to want to set yourself up for easy kills but you need to try not to lose experience or gold that you can't collect in lane. When you are setting yourself up, be quick so that right after the kill, you can go right back to farming.
Don't Get Blood Thirsty
A lot of people see a really low health god and decide to go for the kill even though the rest of the enemy team is right there. Make sure that you can get the kill without dying yourself even if that means giving up an easy kill.

I understand that he isn't meta but I had to put him somewhere and duel masters just felt like the right place. I am in no way saying that baka is meta right now but he is pretty decent at 1v1s with his basic attack buff

Love the guide but for duel masters Baka is also good although he isn't meta anymore

Arachne might take a little bit more practice to get the hang of. Because of her combo, you are forced to go a little bit deeper into enemy lines than a few other assassins. I would recommend reviewing your build and every time you die, think of why. Some times, it might be the fact that you aren't attacking at the right time.
