Quick Start Command Line
Add this to command line variables.

-CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1080x32 -f -intro:off -CPUCount:1 -CPUPriority:high -Cursors:fullcolor
How to use a custom resolution
Add the folllowing line to the launch options in steam.

-CustomResolution:enabled -r1680x1050x32

Replace with desired resolition.
Please check the other section for supported resolutions.

Also adding
-f Forces Fullscreen
-w Forces Windowed Screen
Supported Resolutions
  • 1280 x 800 (16:10)
  • 1440 x 900 (16:10)
  • 1680 x 1050 (16:10)
  • 1920 x 1200 (16:10)
  • 2560 x 1600 (16:10)
  • 1024 x 576 (16:9)
  • 1360 x 768 (16:9)
  • 1024 x 600 (16:9)
  • 1600 x 900 (16:9)
  • 1920 x 1080 (16:9)
  • 2048 x 1152 (16:9)
  • 1366x768 (16:9)
Crashes on Multi-Core CPUs
If you find SimCity 4 crashing, limiiting the game to one CPU core may help.

Simply add the following line to Steam Startup Parameters.

-CPUCount:1
Skip Intro
The intro video can be skipped automatically by adding this parameter to launch options

-intro:off

This has been useful to get the game to work in windowed mode for me but i still cant get it to work in fullscreen. It loads up, i can hear it playing in the background but its just black and nothing shows. Not sure what else to do. I have looked around about this issue and everyone seems to just say this solution but i cant get it to run fullscreen still.

If you still have crashes try to add this:

-d:soft

This with switch from hardware rendering to software.
This key helped me to run the game.
