DEI Submod - Peter Connolly's Roman Republic

Descrizione
There's a fairly well known book by ancient history scholar and illustrator, the late Peter Connolly called, "The Roman Army". On the first few pages is a beautiful watercolour of the Battle of Pydna in 168 BC, depicting the Roman manipular legion against the Macedonian phalanx. That watercolour and Peter Connolly's vision of Polybian legionaries is what I've based this pack on.
What's new?
Reskinned Montefortino or Etrusco/Italo-Corinthian helmets for legionaries, Kaziel's crests and feathers for each line, tinned scale armour and combination of Hellenic helmets for officers, a combination of pectoral and Kaziel's mail armour for everyone else and, finally, a colourful mix of tunics and Kaziel's awesome scuta.
Peter Connolly was an archaeologist and it seems he firmly based his idea of the Roman soldier on contemporary accounts and physical evidence - recovered artifacts, Roman and Italian sculpture and paintings, depictions on coins and the writings of Polybius. It's quite likely that Polybian legionaries would've worn a much wider variation of kit than he envisioned, but funnily enough, the evidence doesn't actually support it. In fact, a case for the homogenisation of the pre-Marian Republican legion could be argued quite strongly due to the likelihood that the best patterns of kit would've been worn by everyone who could afford it. Montefortino and Etrusco/Italo-Corinthian helmets were extremely popular, as evidenced by the number of physical finds and depictions in art, so it's possible to infer that nearly all legionaries would've worn them. Either way, I really like Peter Connolly's interpretation and it's been fun bringing his work to life in-game.

The assets and textures here are the work of their respective authors - the Divide et Impera team, True Legions (with Atilla's kind permission), Kaziel and Creative Assembly. All I've done is edit a few textures and compile some varient meshes.
Make sure you're running the latest version of Divide et Impera and double check this pack is a priority in your load order.

I don't see them ingame. I have loaded them above DeI, but the Hastati, Principes, etc. are still the visual units from standard DeI...are Robb Stark's units only for late Hastati etc? Or for both, early and late?

It still works for me. You just have to move it above DeI in the mod manager
