this doesnt even look like an ak47.

But according to infinity ward it is, it looks like some sort of ak-102 PMC or something, modernized ak ♥♥♥♥♥♥ SOMETHING I DONT KNOWWWWWW . so im just gonna call it an ak47 i dont care.

Also to the idiot in the comments section saying its an "ak-12", it's literally got an akm stamped metal receiver which the ak-12 does not, the ak12 was a weapon meant to be for Russian special police forces and spetnaz, so Russia actually went with an expensive milled steel upper, over the akm's fire control group. the barrel in an ak12 is also reciprocating (think glock) where as the ak-47 has a static long gas system, just like the two rifles its based off of, THE GARAND AND THE BAR

(NOT THE STG44 WHY THE HELL WOULD A SHORT GAS SYSTEM WITH DELAY ROLLER BLOCK AND EXPENSIVE MECHANISMS LIKE IN THE TRIGGER GUARD BE THE INSPIRATION FOR ONE THE MOST SIMPLIFIED RIFLES?!!)

So I'm going to correct you on something. Infinityward did in fact actually have an ak-47 handy for their modelling purposes, however they wanted the ak-47 to look more "modern" for MW2, but they did not have access to Russian forces and were unable to reach out to said forces like they did with the U.S. Army rangers. So they literally, I ♥♥♥♥ you not, went to a walmart in the mid west, and bought the first thing of " tactical '' furniture they found which was the plastic crap you see in mw2.
