They had their chance with The Outer Worlds, which had the deep and dynamic plot of 'rich people dumb please laugh now'. If I recall correctly, they even put damage numbers over enemies like baby's first shooter before literally everyone modded it out. The Outer Worlds wasn't some Bethesda-beater, it was a cheap knockoff of Borderlands.
Character did not come from a vault.
Its not neccecary, but it feels like it should have been.
