What the heck are dragon lairs and why do I care
Dragon Lairs are dungeon-like areas you can find in certain biomes and world-types that can give you direct access to a guranteed dragon that drops fragments.

50 Fragments can be used with other resources at the Dragon Crucible in hub to craft a smaller, mountable version of each biome dragon. Currently, more fragments are dropped from dragons in higher Ubers as follows:

Diffuculty
Number of Fragments Dropped
Ubers 2-3
1
Ubers 4-6
2
Uber 7
3
Uber 8
4
Uber 9
5

Currently there are three dragons that can be found in the specified locations
  • Dracocolatl - Candoria (on land and in lairs)
  • Flakbeard - Open Seas in Drowned Worlds (on beaches and occasionally in lairs)
  • Thallasion - Unique purple-blue biome in Drowned Worlds (or sometimes hanging out underwater walking around)

Each one has a distinct landmark that signifies a dragon dungeon so you can spot it from boats/wings/walkin'
Dracocolatl Lairs
Dracocolatl Lairs can be found and entered through large orange gumdrops found around Candoria,
containing a portal at the center of each one.

The inside of the lair will be a large dome with the dragon Dracocolatl stationed at the center, far enough to remain out of aggro unless approached.
Flakbeard Lairs
The Flakbeard lair is, in my experiences, the most diffucult lair to locate without the use of mods due to the low-visibility and doing a pretty good job of not appearing to be a dragon lair from the top.

While Flakbeard can be encountered on land, a guranteed way to find him is by scouring the ocean floor in Open Sea biomes of Drowned Worlds. The dungeon will look like a dark-colored rock surrounded by large coral objects.

The interior of the Flakbeard lair is unique compared to other lairs due to it's non-dome shape and a large amount of enemies, not just the dragon. The interior of the dungeon will have a large boat, with many basic enemies and mini-bosses stationed throughout the lair. However, the main prize, Flakbeard, resides in the bottom floor of the boat, which can be entered through the large hole in the ship.

Thallasion Lairs
Thallasion itself can be diffucult to encounter in the wild due to only naturally spawning underwater, but the Thallasion dungeon is easily the most obvious of the three dungeons to find. Thallasion lairs have a distinct blue-purple color with no inlying pattern to distinct it from other biomes.

The entrance will be located somewhere on the ocean floor within the biome, consisting of four golden stacks with a purple portal at the center of them

Like the Dracocolatl lair, the interior is simplistic in shape, only consisting of a large patterned dome with Thallasion at the center, and a Dragon Crucible next to the orange portal that opens after killing Thallasion.
The Part where I give credit to some people and also I become a sell-out
Credits
  • ExoDave for making the mods that make increase underwater visibility, and for making that handy-dandy beam that marks dragons to make it easier to spot them in the wild
  • MadaMadaMaster for showing me that Flakbeard lairs exist
  • F_Past for showing me that Dracocolatl lairs exist and supplying me with an endless amount of three trovian dungeons that just need one more guy to complete
  • The entirety of Dragon chat for helping me find dragon lairs to take pictures of.

Free Stuff
Unrelated to the guide and most people have this already, but in case you don't you can input the code 6Q6X-DD3Z-3MWN-6LWL-66XE for a free Salt Sower mount (Which also means 50 free master points)

Give Me Free Stuff If You Enjoyed The Guide (Or don't I can't tell you what to do, just annoyingly suggest it)
If you wanna fund the foundation of Ccstewy Wants Free Stuff and you are under mastery level 20 you can input the code RCK9C3QYXWZKJ9NFEQ3L to refer me as a friendo, which means I get free stuff and you get a free class of your choice, and I think a mount (Need confirmation on the mount tho)

Both codes and any others you may come across can be redeemed at
http://www trionworlds com/trove/store/redeem/ [dots will need to be inserted because steam is really annoying about links outside of steam]

Which mod is it that gives dragons a beacon? I've looked at all of ExoDave's mods on Steam & Trovesaurus & it's not any of those, does it not exist anymore?
