"The direction of Melee Knockback is a sum: A fraction of the Attacker's velocity, plus a damage knockback. Damage knockback can be controlled by "Flicking" an attack- Flicking from Right to Left causes the damage knockback to go more to the Left, from Below to Above causes the knockback to be Upward and so on.

Not flicking at all will cause the Damage knockback to be just away from you, same as now. Flicking harer will cause the knockback to be less forward and more to the side, and if you spin very fast you can even "Grapple" an oponent in your direction, knocking him towards you."
