I get tons of heavies but never enough supports. :( It's one tiny gripe I have, I wish you could pick the class yourself when a soldier gets promoted to squaddie. Either that or balance it a bit more - I don't need 12 heavies :)

Anyone else find that actualy getting soldiers to be support class to be a rare things? I have a lot of assault and snipers but its rare to get a heavy or support.

I'd recommend permanently taking rookies if you have any left - and rotate through 12-15 soldiers so you always have someone to fall back on if someone gets injured or dies. I can't stress this enough for supports, I have found them invaluable in my squads and will always take 2 with me.

I am doing Classic but not in Ironman mode yep I am a wimp. The hardest part for me so far is to try and stop my soldiers from panicking all the time. I am now starting to get a nice core of about 10 I can rely on. Now and then I will take a red shirt with me to see if they survive.

Aye that was my first play through and one of the earliest missions. This is definitely a game you replay a few times to perfect strategy. Current run is Ironman Classic - some very edge-of-my-seat moments going on. Absolutely great stuff.

Yep. Made some tactical errors as well.

Giving the Rookie a Red Shirt was kind of asking for it :p
