Absolute kino weapon selection. LMG is goated. Barnacle grappling hook was way ahead of its time even if using it is kinda lame and feels floaty. Peak half life content tbh, only like 5 hours or so if you aren't ♥♥♥♥ like me. Play it if you liked half life. Don't play it if you're a stupid loser

Glad to finally get around to playing this classic PC game. Pace of the chapters is great aside from on a rail, which AFAIK is removed entirely in the Black Mesa fan remake, so just play that unless you wanted something resembling the original 1998 experience like I did. OG Half Life is great, but very little of value is lost with the removal of on a rail imo.

Overall though it's shocking how well the shooting and movement hold up. Combat felt good throughout the entire game despite how often they throw hit scanning soldiers at you.

The game is like 12 hours long if you don't get killed all the time like I did. Play it before you die/10
